Re: Usagi TMNT figure in Stores?
Oh my gosh... it's going to be a bit of a mission maintaining my Usagi action figure collection!
I wonder how (or if) those Walmart exclusives will be distributed internationally.

I hope this comes with a Stan figure (with beard) and his little white dog.Stan Sakai wrote:the Sakai Signature Exclusive. The Sakai exclusive will come in a different box with a different accessory and will be available in October or November.

Hi Stan, can you say if the Sakai exclusive will also come with the comic book, or a variant thereof?Stan Sakai wrote:In addition, there is the San Diego Comic-con exclusive and the Sakai Signature Exclusive. Stan, I'm guessing you don't want to reveal more of the details yet otherwise you would've already but can you tell us more about your exclusive Usagi? I'm going to be trying to get the SDCC version and I'm curious now if that's really necessary with your own coming later this year. What accessories are different and what will the packaging be like? If you can't reveal this now do you know when we'll be able to find this out?
I understand if you don't want to give us the specifics yet but I have to ask!
Thanks for sharing so much with us already!

I don't know for certain until it actually comes out, but what we designed is:OnitsukaTiger wrote:Stan, I'm guessing you don't want to reveal more of the details yet otherwise you would've already but can you tell us more about your exclusive Usagi? A window box with a panel (similar to the SDCC variant) rather than a blister pack. It will not be as large or as elaborate as the SDCC variant, though. Each of the toys will be signed on the panel, probably inside.
The figure will have a different color scheme--black and red
Usagi will have a bow/arrow as an accessory.

Re: Usagi TMNT figure in Stores?
I found the Walmart exclusives on Saturday night. Samurai armor Usagi and Usagi with horse. I had called earlier in the week to see when their next shipment arrived and they said Saturday night. They had two Usagi/horse figures and 3 of the Usagi in armor figures. I probably should have bought more than one as someone on here probably would have wanted it...oops. This is the first time I have seen this line of toys at Walmart and I have been checking regularly. I am in central Illinois and it seems that we start getting items about 7-10 days after they start showing up in California.
I have not been able to find the first Usagi figure anywhere. I have checked our local Target, ToysRUs and some others around the area. I also checked a couple while on vacation in Georgia and Florida but no luck. I may have to buy one off eBay at a ridiculous price if I can't find one soon.
Not sure how long they keep shipping these out to stores before they are unavailable.
Cool figures for sure and can't wait to see the Sakai exclusive!

Thanks for the info Trevis!
I have a general dislike for Walmart, mostly due to the conditions of the local stores... and the fact that popular toys don't stick around long due to the vast number of collectors and resellers in the area. Unless you are there when stuff hits the floor, your chances are slim....
I'm curious though, when you called, did you ask specifically when the next TMNT toys were expected, or just when they were getting a toy shipment in?
That's funny.... distribution is so hard to figure out. I collect diecast cars, including some hot Wheels and Matchbox (I mostly stick to the 'Japanese' cars - Nissan, Honda, Mazda, Toyota, etc). It always seems as though various states on the East coast and Midwest (and Texas), get stuff long before it reaches the stores here in Southern California. Not that I can even find what I want when it does hit here... again, the popular stuff is generally long gone by the time I make it out to the stores. I wind up getting most of my 'regular' and 'mainline' cars from a few helpful fellow collectors online.I am in central Illinois and it seems that we start getting items about 7-10 days after they start showing up in California.
I'm going to sit tight and wait... the toys are just hitting stores everywhere, and I'm sure there will be new shipments coming in throughout the season. I will only resort to eBay as a last resort, and only if prices are 'reasonable'.I have not been able to find the first Usagi figure anywhere. Re: Usagi TMNT figure in Stores?
When I call I ask for someone in the toy department and then ask if they have the new samurai line of tmnt toys in stock. It helps that there is a white rabbit on the packaging. Makes it easy for me to describe on the phone.
Sometimes I get an employee that is helpful and knowledgeable but other times I get employees that can't be bothered with questions. The gentleman I spoke with was so helpful. He looked up the item in their system and saw that a case of the tmnt figures was due to arrive on their next truck. He gave me approximate unload times and everything so I wouldn't miss it.
It really is a shame that all these figures are on eBay at triple or more the store price. My local Taget had some but they say people kee snatching them up. It is funny because at my local comic shop I am the only person with Usagi on their pull list. So, people are just flipping these figures on eBay and not buying them because they are fans of the character.

Re: Usagi TMNT figure in Stores?
It looks as though Smyths toys in the UK will be stocking the standard figure and the 12" version.
https://www.smythstoys.com/uk/en-gb/search/?text=USAGI
The standard looks to be in store around 25th-30th June, with the 12" showing an August arrival.
I just wish we got the exclusives you all do in America

And I agree with that last part you said.
