Re: Bunraku hardcover now available
You know, I saw that this morning & didn't even pay it any attention. When I saw it I assumed IDW was just trying to sell of any TPB's they still had.Mayhem wrote:And for anyone wondering where IDW's supply of the hardcover was going to appear...!

Mayhem, is IDW this bad with TMNT releases?

Comics wise, no, but I only buy the singles for TMNT, I don't buy any of the collected editions.maichan wrote:Mayhem, is IDW this bad with TMNT releases?

As far as I'm aware, the TMNT hardcovers are not signed or limited (they get reprinted, so may be unavailable for a short time but do come back), are distributed through Diamond, and are larger collections rather than single trades, so it's difficult to compare the two situations.

Re: Bunraku hardcover now available
I guess I've just been curious if this is a problem limited or isolated to Usagi Yojimbo, or if it ranges across the board for IDW books. Since I'm not at all familiar with the TMNT books or their distribution, I was thinking that maybe they might be a good point of reference, but I guess not.

Re: Bunraku hardcover now available
IDW has done some very limited TMNT releases that are signed (and maybe some with original art?), but those releases have been through IDW Limited rather than their regular IDW Publishing arm and I don't follow them closely enough to know how those releases are scheduled and handled.
It's also hard to say, based on Bunraku coming out during Covid, how much that played into things. I know lots of other books have had to be rescheduled from other publishers. That doesn't excuse IDW for how terrible they've been at communicating, however, as they can still write updates and everything while social isolating from the comfort of their homes. But it might explain the weird release delay.

Re: Bunraku hardcover now available
My Hardcover has shipped from Stan so the AP, signed, numbered and sketched questions will be confirmed shortly.
I asked for it to be sketched “if possible” hoping Stan, Beth, Daniel or someone else at the Usagi castle drew something nice in it
The news that Volume 9 will be smaller than 1500 is now concerning me...I wasn’t going to preorder it but now I have to get that done immediately. Although an AP version of the last Saga edition might be in order.

The race is on to see who (excluding Usagi Goya) will be the first to receive their HC copy of Bunraku and solve the greatest mystery of 2020!Trevis Woods wrote:My Hardcover has shipped from Stan so the AP, signed, numbered and sketched questions will be confirmed shortly.

How do we log in to Stan's website? I haven't received a confirmation from my Bunraku order that I placed on the 20th and I want to check its status. I can't figure it out.

I don't think there is a way to log on per se other than when you are actually shopping.Gaffey wrote:How do we log in to Stan's website? I haven't received a confirmation from my Bunraku order that I placed on the 20th and I want to check its status. I can't figure it out.
You should have gotten at least two emails from Stan Sakai Staff - one should say "...order has been received", and the other should say "...order is now complete"
Maybe they went to your junk box?
Re: Bunraku hardcover now available
The only email I received was from Paypal. I'll go ahead and send an email. I didn't want to bother them with something I hoped I could find online.

Yeah, I received the first email shortly after I placed my order, and the follow-up email was 4 days later. Both contained an order number, and came from info@stansakai.com
You sure you provided the proper email address when you ordered? Maybe a typo?

Re: Bunraku hardcover now available
Also, someone mentioned on Facebook that the books weren't shipping from Stan, possibly from elsewhere?
Re: Bunraku hardcover now available
I had no issues with the ornament or the hat so I doubt it's the email address. Everything autofills so no issues there.
I sent an email so I'll let you know what happens. Worst case scenario I get a numbered copy instead of an AP. I know you're on the edge of your seat.

I'm assuming numbered books are being sent out. The FB user that bought from Stan's shop and received his book today, received a numbered book.Gaffey wrote:I had no issues with the ornament or the hat so I doubt it's the email address. Everything autofills so no issues there.
