Because I'm a lazy person, I'm going to repost the comment I made concerning this issue on the ComiXtreme forum (estee's review):
Poor Usagi! His little bunny heart is just so full of love for the women in his life. Tomoe, Chizu, and now fiesty little Mayumi. It is no wonder that when he is poisoned and sinks into a fevered dream, he kills the woman whom he has silently loved for all these years, knowing full-well that they would never be able to comsumate that love. But to kill the woman who he has such feelings for requires Usagi to be heartless and cold blooded, like a demon, like Jei. So Usagi dreams that he has become possessed by Jei in order to severe the emotional ties binding him to Tomoe, subconsciously trying to remove some of the emotional conflict from his heart. The healing powers of dreams can be pretty bloody sometimes!
