Trevis Woods wrote:The variant cover we really need is a black and white cover featuring Stan’s art and not a guest artist. IDW loves variants and at least this would have some meaning. I think #15 would have been a good option after Tom retired with issue #14
It would honor the greatest B&W comic ever on the cover and then have color interiors. Something unique and I doubt it has been done before
What a great idea! That could have been a such a great gesture to the man who did the colors for all these years, and on a pivotal issue it would really have meant something. Perhaps something can still be done.

Seems to be a trend, but there will be a 1:10 for issue #18 too.

Do you have a link?

A cursory Google search only turned up the regular cover of 18 for me.

Do you mean JENNIFER MEYER, the children's book illustrator? I like her art.

She did this Red and Woof print for Paul Jenkin's Fairy Quest.

Bleedingcool.com, gocollect.com, and 12News.com (My Little Pony Friendship Is Magic #40 Cover C) list her as Jennifer L. Myer

I'm looking forward to that 10:1! I don't think I'll end up picking up the variants for Wanderer's Road, sadly. :(

I'm going to assume it's Meyer. She does have a book called THE EFFERVESCENT ADVENTURES OF FIGHT-BUNNY after all. :P

I missed out on the regular series issue 15 variant, as they ended up running a lot more expensive than I had anticipated (and I missed out on the reasonably priced eBay preorders). My comic shop got one copy in stock, but it sold before I went in.

Issue 16 looks like it might be the same problem. eBay preorders were reasonable, but it looks like current prices are high again. I'll give my shop a call and see if they can set aside their copy for me.

I guess I should put in a preorder on eBay for the issue 17 variant, as prices are still reasonable. Or maybe I should give up collecting all the variants since I already missed out on having a complete set.

edit: my comic shop put aside the issue 16 variant for me at a somewhat reasonable price and I found a pre-order for 17 for cheap, so hopefully that comes through.
