Meeting Stan at conventions is always a treat! He was very patient this past weekend as I tried to get multiple copies of the Usagi convention book autographed by all the artists.

It turns out that was impossible, at least 4 artists were no-shows, others ghosted in and out, one charged $ for autographs . . .

HOWEVER . . . I have available for dojo members only, FIVE copies of the convention book, each with a sketch by Stan, various numbers of artist's signatures, and each with ALL FIVE SEPARATE PLATES.

One copy per dojo member, first come first served. Contact me via PM on the Usagi Yojimbo DojoBoard for details and final price.

I'm not looking to make a profit, I totaled up my costs for the convention, divided it by the number of books I purchased, and there we are. Hoping anyone who wishes to purchase one of these is also doing it as a collector and Usagi fan, and not for resale!!

Let the fun begin . . .

Hey, can I claim one of these for Roel Roble (of Roku Toys) since he posted on the UY Dojo facebook page prior to the convention that he was looking for someone to help him get a copy. I need to check with him and see if he already made arrangements.

I second that Roel should get a copy if he hasn't received one yet. He took a big risk making the best Usagi character statues for us fans to enjoy. Peace, maka

I've got one set aside for Roel, if he wants it. There was some question whether he already had a copy lined up, but never fear, he won't miss out!

I believe Roel ordered one from me, and as soon as I go through my orders and put books with payments, I'll know if I have any extras. I also did the rounds of trying to get autographs from the artists at the show, and while I wasn't able to get every single copy signed by the dozens of artists who were there, every one did get signed by Stan, and I think most of them will have the set of extra prints that you went around getting the signatures to receive.

It was a really fun con, and nice to see Stan getting the recognition his 29+ years of publication deserve. The art auction of the donated pictures was fun to attend as well. Because they wanted to keep the auction simple and "in house", it meant there were maybe only 20 or 30 possible bidders, meaning most sold for what could be considered "bargain" prices, but it's all done for fun and to help support the convention, so "every little bit helps".

Stay tuned for shipments as soon as I can get them packed!

Such a shame that book was not available to everybody. For only $20 they would have cleaned up just selling it to dojo members! I would have bought one for sure! maybe two just for the other cover as well especially at that price.
Try giving the phone number of the comic shop that put the convention on (Cards, Comics and Collecibles, (410) 526-7410) a call. They don't plan on putting the book on their website, but if you call them wanting to order merchandise they have, I certainly hope they would choose to sell it to you as NOT sell you something that they have plenty of.

Wow. Thank you Steve, Maka, Shadowfax and Fiawol for thinking of me. That really means a lot!!! Thanks Fiawol for getting one for me. I will wait for your email for the amount.

I may also have something to share with all of you in a couple of months. Stay tuned.

Congrats Shadowfax and fiawol,

I didn't even attempt to get multiple copies signed. And I didn't even dare to attempt to offer a service to Dojo members. :'(

I got everyone in attendance except for Michael Golden & Mark Texiera (who I kept missing their signing times).

But I see them often enough that it'll get done. I even got all the names that didn't make the book, but were on the program checklist (Prado, Reis, Finch, etc.).

So I was BUSY the entire con. I did attend the auction late after the 5:00pm start. Put in a couple half-hearted bids for Stan's watercolor program cover

(but I'd rather Stan receive all the money, rather than the show). Since I gave up on Stan's piece, I won Frank Cho's piece. It was too large to carry back on

the plane safely, so I left it with Frank. I hadn't been to this con in 3 years, so it was fun to return.

P.S. : Almost done with the Usagi hachimaki jam piece. Just 1 more character...

In addition to the David Petersen piece from the auction I also picked up an Usagi commission by Matteo Scalera.

I love this drawing, saw it when he posted it on DeviantArt.com a month ago. :D

Just noticed all the little specks of black on your larger scan, almost looks like a bunch of ink got splattered.....

Also an update for members who had ordered from me, I stayed over in Baltimore a while after the convention, and after I got home I had to catch up on real-world work, but I started packing over the weekend, and all orders should be going out tomorrow other than 1 that I'm waiting for an address to send it to. Glad I was able to help out, and I'll see if I can start coming to the forum more than once a year before San Diego Con! :-)
