Yes, but did Sakai-sama make a new announcement or two regarding future projects?

I'm sure Kyle will let us know when he can. He's probably just decompressing from 5 days on con life.lookatyouhacker wrote:Yes, but did Sakai-sama make a new announcement or two regarding future projects?

Re: SDCC 2019
Since I live somewhere in between here & there, and also since it's become a bit of a tradition, Kyle stopped off at my house on his way home from SDCC to drop off a few things...

Once I sort through it all and take some more photos, I will share the pictures elsewhere here on the Dojo.
A super big THANK YOU to Kyle, and well as a round of thanks to Sakai sensei, Grusagi, and the various artists which graciously gave of themselves during this 5 day event.

Wow! That a nice haul. Did you pay for someone to attend the dinner so you could get the gold version of Grasscutter?
I always forget about Segio's prints. I don't think he brought any to HeroesCon.

That's an optical illusion. My copy is the silver version, it just appears to be gold lettering due to the lighting.Gaffey wrote:Wow! That a nice haul. Did you pay for someone to attend the dinner so you could get the gold version of Grasscutter?
I wasn't aware that Sergio had any prints until the last day, when I saw someone on Facebook post a few images. The two prints I requested were #5 & #6 (new for 2019?), but he also had prints #1, #2, #3, and #4 (from 2009 and 2010).I always forget about Segio's prints. I don't think he brought any to HeroesCon. Just books.

Re: SDCC 2019
Nothing super new. Next year's "secret project" is the hinted-at-before Chibi Usagi series with Stan's wife Julie. As for the spin-off stories that are to follow at some point, Stan said he had several artists in mind to reach out to.Gaffey wrote:I'm sure Kyle will let us know when he can. Regarding UY issue #6, which will come out 35 years after Albedo #2, we may have some variant covers to look forward to. I saw the pencils for one such cover while chatting with an artist that did one of the issue #1 variants.
That's pretty much all the new info I can recall hearing that I can share.

Re: SDCC 2019
Today I'm playing catch-up on life (and sleep
), then work a long day tomorrow, so I'll start sorting through all the SDCC purchases later in the week, figuring out the best packing and shipping options, and will be in touch with everybody as soon as I can.

Re: SDCC 2019
Too bad. I was hoping the project for next year would be the Space Usagi 3 storyline that Stan mentioned back in the CBR interview back in 2018. Though, who's gonna write the stories for the spin-off series?jabba359 wrote:Nothing super new. Next year's "secret project" is the hinted-at-before Chibi Usagi series with Stan's wife Julie. Re: SDCC 2019
Were these SDCC exclusives? I don't remember seeing them on the wiki fandom page.

They're the back covers of the IDW SDCC virgin 2-pack exclusive. I haven't had time to update the wiki since I found out.Gaffey wrote:Were these SDCC exclusives? I don't remember seeing them on the wiki fandom page.

Re: SDCC 2019
True, but I asked a question about the spin-off series: if Stan is asking other artists to draw for them, who is going to actually write the stories for that series?
