You still didn't answer my question: Who's gonna write the stories for the Usagi Yojimbo spin-off series?

Kyle said, "That's pretty much all the new info I can recall hearing that I can share." Maybe he doesn't know or if he does, maybe he can't share that info with us at this time. That's the way I took his response.

Regarding UY issue #6, which will come out 35 years after Albedo #2, we may have some variant covers to look forward to. I saw the pencils for one such cover while chatting with an artist that did one of the issue #1 variants.
1. I can't wait for the Chibi Usagi series. I wish this could be published by Scholastic and get into all elementary schools book fairs. Just like Bone did.

2. The spin off stories - crossing my fingers this happen sooner than later. There is so much happening with Usagi lately, I don't know how Team Sakai can fit in another project, but I welcome it! :)

3. More variant covers! ARRRGGGGGGHHHHHH!

I have no doubt that Kyle knows things that he can't share. But are they Usagi related, only Kyle knows. ;)

Peace, maka

Regarding the spin-off stories, that is all I know. Stan didn't elaborate (at least that I can recall) on the specifics of who'd be writing or how much he'd be involved in the writing process.

Well, I'm concerned about the spin-off stories straying far from Stan's intentions. That's why I was concerned about who was writing them.

Keep in mind that even if Stan doesn't write the books, he still has to approve everything, including the script. If they stray too far from Stan's vision, he can steer them back on course well before publication. Stan runs a pretty tight ship as far as Usagi is concerned, so I wouldn't spend too much energy worrying about it just yet.

I sent out a bunch of PMs and Facebook Messages to people I shopped for with what I picked up and costs, and even mailed out 4 packages today. I still have a few people left to message, but I think I'm going to watch the last episode of Stranger Things season 3 and eat some dinner. If you haven't heard from me, I'll get to you tomorrow.

It's probably going to be the same as per Mouse Guard - Legends of the Guard. I believe David still had a yes or no over the stories before they were printed. I think.

Well, as for the artists of that spin-off series, I wonder who they are going to be. I hope J. Scott Campbell turns out to be one of them.

Also, Usagi's not the only anthropomorphic animal hero to have a new home on IDW. Remember Sonic the Hedgehog?
