Fantagraphics vs Dark Horse

When I was going through my back issues of Usagi and reading issue #61...I've noticed a huge change in Stan's drawing techniques between the Fantagraphics volumes and Dark Horse ones.

What happened?

...peoples' drawing styles become more refined and change over time. That's basically what happened here, I suspect.
