(I really want to find good homes for these cool Usagi Yojimbo posters and cards!)
Over the years, Usagi Yojimbo starred in a lot of stories which have been published by a number of publishers, and in a number of differant formats. They have been published in black and white, in color, in comic book and trade editions, anthology and benefit publications,newspapers, magazines, etc.
Sometimes, The stories have been changed between publications, appearing under differant titles, corrections made to fix errors, stories expanded or several stories combined with new pages to form a new longer story.
Some examples are;
the very first Usagi story was simply titled "Usagi Yojimbo" and was published in the b/w anthology ALBEDO, reprinted under the new title of "The Goblin of Adachigahara", then reprinted still later in the trade volume RONIN.
The story "Hebi" appeared in a trade edition, then in a game book, the story "The Courage of the Plum" originally appeared in a pin-up or artbook, then both stories were combined pages in the SEASONS trade edition to form yet another story called "Snakes and Blossoms".
Confused yet?
the question is this...
All of the Mirage issues of Usagi yojimbo were published in color, then reprinted in b/w when they were collected into various trade editions. Only one Usagi Yojimbo story was ever published first in b/w and then reprinted in color. (in the U.S.)
what was that story which started off in b/w, was expanded and reprinted in color, then reprinted a third time back in b/w?
I want both titles for the story...
