Depends on what you mean. If you mean collecting the individual Usagi Yojimbo stories and issues as they were published, then yes (for the most part -- the exception would the the Color Specials which have not been collected yet). If you mean chronologically with regards to Usagi's continuity, then yes and no... for example, Usagi's origin story appears in UY Book 2, but it is represented as a "flashback" story, with Usagi doing the narrating. We're also treated to many of the Young Usagi stories, which in some cases Stan has actually attempted to integrate into normal continuity by adding some pages to the trade collections where an adult Usagi is actually telling the story to someone.

The bottom line is that you can purchase the UY trades starting with Book 1 and go from there with no problems. But if you started with one of the later Books, you shouldn't have any problems either since Usagi Yojimbo is not one big storyline in itself. Just a series of short and long stories and you can pretty much just jump right in wherever. The exception to this might be Grasscutter and Grasscutter 2... I'd try to read GC 1 first!
