What comments are you looking for? Were you disappointed or pleased at the way it ended?

I have no right to really comment as I don't believe I've read any other stories leading up to this one, but I liked how it was resolved. Vengeance is not a bad word to me, but our students frequently engage in escalating payback for trivial incidents-- one year I had a fourth grade girl who got her cousin to hit some other fourth grade girl-- they'd been enemies since third grade. When the girl complained to me about Brittany, I asked her what happened, thinking I would hear some story about some incident from a few days before-- I was almost right-- "You see, Ms. Fluharty, when we were in third grade she ripped my coat, and she didn't even care, and my mama tried to talk to her mama, and they just didn't---" At that point I kind of blanked it all out and dealt with the boy cousin instead, warning him about being suspended for getting involved in a stupid girls fight.

So, I like that he was able, in the end, to place a "trophy" on his father's grave, though it wasn't the one he originally sought.

I thought that it was a very nice end to a very interesting story. I can't imagine what the U.S. would be like if you could petition the government to go out and kill for a personal vendetta.

I really think that this is when Stan's writing excels...when he uses interesting facts about feudal Japanese society and uses them to create three dimensional characters. It always makes the stories better.

I imagine that it would be the busiest office the government would have to staff...

Sorry-- long day.

I was able to buy #82 at my local comic shop on March 30th...

Seems that Dark Horse (according to their web-site) has moved the release date for issue #83 from April 27th (as listed in the letter column of #82) to May 4th.

Very typical epsiode, kind of unoriginal. Anyway, I enjoyed reading very much as I always do. I like to see Stans Artwork getting more and more adult. (i.e. page 10). Also the dialogue in this page is very hardboiled.
Also I like the change in Usagi's behaviour over the years, as I understand it.
Usagi moves more and more away from the classical definition of honour and finds more and more a personal interpretation of bushido. In a way, Usagi is no ronin any longer for some time but serves the people, he meets on the road and he does this more and more in a very reflected and aware way, I guess.
