Wow, Stan's storytelling abilities just blow me away.

Three pages of Motakazu (sp) walking from home to the castle and it is completely riviting.

And the way he endured the soldier's scorn...a true samurai is born.

This book is amazing.

Can't wait to read the whole thing.

that's the one... seems like I remember seeing them wander past in another recent issue.

Kinda makes you think that Stan has somethin' planned in the near future which requires them bein' present or at least near at hand.

I'm still wonderin about a confrontation between the Blood Princess and the possessed Inazuma. What would happen if the spirit of Jei-San took over the Blood Princess? Talk about an extremely nasty combination..

Anybody care to speculate?

Well, it must be gettin' time to go to the comic shop and see if #85 is in yet.

Before I forget:

Well, I'm back from the comic shop with issue #85 (actually been back long enough to read it as well :D ).

I also got to pick up the really super cool, fourth time around, Usagi Yojimbo calander. I am so glad that Tidemark has been producing these and hope that they keep publishing new ones each year for a long time.

I think calanders are such a perfect compliment to an ongoing comic series, being both practical and collectable at the same time.

I really wish Stan had the time to do a theme calander, something along the lines of "Usagi's Women" featuring Usagi with all the women in his life (possibly even a peek at his mother?).

EYAAAAAH! Did Jei kill Usagi in that sketch?

Also, who is this "Blood Princess" character? Is she in one of the graphic novels?

Looks like he missed by a hare! ( sorry, couldn't resist!)

The "Blood Princess" is Noriko, the cousin of Tomoe Ame. She made her first appearance in the Dark Horse Comics issue #83, the first part of the currently on-going "Treasure of the Mother of Mountains" story-line. These stories probably won't be collected as a graphic novel for a year or two.

The Usagi Yojimbo graphic novel titled "Fathers and Sons" (volume #19) which is to be released sometime in the next month or so and will collect issues 69-#75. Issue #69 was released in September 2003 and issue #75 was released in April 2004. That might provide some perspective on how much time between the comics and the graphic novels.

Since you spotted Inazuma and Keiko, I'm sure you guys noticed Nilson and Hermy a few issues back. :)

I noticed this a couple issues back...but I wonder if anyone else did...

Our boy Usagi is one ripped ronin. Page 22, when his shirt is off, check out the pecks and bis on the dude.

Sheesh if I looked like that I'd walk around without a kimono and whenever Tomoe came by I start flexing and say "Whose your Tono, kitty-kat?"
