2. sqeuaky and high pitched(hehehehhe)
3. Hint of accent?!?
4. proud confident one
5 sissy like

Very proud of course, but I've always felt that Usagi is still a young man, still in his early twenties.

proud-- and I like the actor's voicing of him in the Turtles cartoons (the current ones)-- he speaks proudly there-- remember Real World part 1 when he had to dress as a Ninja?

I saw the promo for space usagi cartoon and I didnt like the voice.
I imagen a proud voice with slight hint of accent.
Plus with Gen i imagen a deep voice but he doesnt sound stupid or as hoarse as he did in the space usagi promo.
But each fan imagens different voices, getting one in the majority will be hard

I think they guy who did Space Usagi's voice was the same guy who did the voice for Darkwing Duck and countless other cartoons and commercials. I agree, he was too "heroic" sounding for Usagi. The current voice in the TMNT show seems to fit the character better. The vocie for the 80's TMNT/Usagi was way too stereotypical sounding for a Japanese character. Plus he sounded too...cartoonish

I agree with cynlee, the voice used for him in the current TMNT was excellent.
I can't bear to watch the old 80's version... I have to mute it just so I won't go crazy and smash the TV.

Actually, younger. Although unconfirmed, the accepted historical birth date for Usagi's human counterpart, Miyamoto Musashi, is 1584. If Usagi's stories start after The Battle of Sekigahara (in which Musashi fought) in 1600, this would make Usagi 16 years old at the start of Book 1. . . .
As for Usagi's voice: Rabbits only have vestigial vocal cords which are only used in their infant stage to cry for help (and warn siblings away from predators); The only time adult rabbits make any vocalizatons is when they die a violent or painful death. In any case, the "rabbit scream" is high-pitched and LOUD !
While this might not be of any use for a speaking voice for the character, it sure would make for one hell of a kiai in combat !

At this moment in time however, Usagi is about my age (30), and I think Stan has said so as well.

The official answer Stan has mentioned before is late twenties. You have to account for the time he spent with Sensei Katsuichi (which could be anywhere between 5-8 years), and the time he spent in the service of Lord Mifune (several years). Then you must account for Jotaro's age, which is probably around 8-10 years old. Late twenties seems a safe bet for most of the "present day" Usagi episodes (as opposed to Young Usagi and other flashbacks), although Stan has revealed the characters do age (and are not stuck in time like The Simpsons), so Usagi may be pushing 30 about now....

I think of Usagi as about 30 by know.
In my imagination he's gut a rather high voice filled with sunshine and laughter and rather with dignity than proud, as he is to humble and modest for an all to proud voice. He should feel no need to try to speak in a very low register, as he is man enaugh, that he doesn't have to prove it by speaking in a deep voice.
Gen should have a rather hoarse or husky (my English isn't that good) voice, maybe something in the way of Robert de Niro, if I remember his original voice correctly.

I thought usagis master would sound like that dude from karate kid. But he looks tougher... so i think his master would sound like an oold husky deep voice.
