I lack the computer skills to upload one of my own.

When someone creates a slate of avatars, I guess (Translation: I'm not going to do it).

Creating an avatar of your own is simple if you have an image. Then just follow the instuctions in the "Avatar" secion in your profile (follow the first link in the second line at the top of the page).
