That is the sixth and final issue of Usagi Yojimbo published under the King Comics imprint in Italy and edited by Alessandro Bottero. I believe it is the only issue published by them with previously unpublished cover-art. It has proven really difficult to find cover scans of all of the volumes (volme 5 ??) published in Italy by King Comics.
KING COMICS - USAGI YOJIMBO 6 albi
N. Titolo Prezzo
1 OMBRE DI MORTE € 4,65
2 SHI € 4,65
3 SCHIAVISTI € 7,23
4 DAISHO € 10,00
5 TRA LA VITA E LA MORTE € 10,00
6 SPETTRI E NINJA € 10,00
(collects stories published in the Dark Horse series of tpb)
KING COMICS - USAGI YOJIMBO CLASSIC 2 albi
N. Titolo Prezzo
1 USAGI YOJIMBO CLASSIC € 10,33
2 USAGI YOJIMBO CLASSIC € 13,00
(collects stories published in the Fantagraphics series of tpb)
A new series of Usagi Yojimbo has recently started under the imprint of Bottero Edizione.
BOTTERO EDIZIONI - USAGI YOJIMBO NUOVA SERIE (m3) 1 albo

1 USAGI YOJIMBO NUOVA SERIE (m3) € 5,00

I had trouble with the on-line ordering system, it did not seem capable of accepting international addresses. They also accept payment through paypal.
An article (in Italian) by Alessandro Bottero about Usagi Yojimbo.

I think that art was used as a cover for UY vol 3, #4 (or #5), for a story titled Bats, the Cat, and the Rabbit. The story and a b&w of the cover was reprinted in UY Book 10: The Brink of Life & Death.
I must have drawn about 200 covers by now. It's easy to forget one or two.

Well, I totally missed it...
I knew it was differant from all the tpb covers, and it did not match any of the "Grasscutter" covers.
I just totally skipped over the early Dark Horse covers since most of the other King Comics covers seemed to be taken from the tpb editions.
If I had bothered to do the math, at four issues per volume starting with the Mirage issues, volume #6 from King Comics would fall right in place for that cover. duh!
Even with the page count given, I was picturing larger volumes in my mind, trying to correspond them with the Dark Horse collections.
It is still a cool cover and very much deserved a second life on another Usagi publication.
Abayo....
