Usagi in the classroom

Post by shaxper »

Now that I'm a full-fledged English teacher, I'm seriously considering using Usagi stories to illustrate plot points and general characteristics of fiction for my 7th graders. However, I have two concerns:

1. Would Stan Sensai approve of photocopied Usagi packets used for such a purpose?

2. What's the "official" way to document such permission? My school's photocopy center wants hard evidence before reproducing any copyrighted works.

I really think my 7th graders would adore using Usagi as a model. The tales are simple enough for anyone to follow, yet rich in plot, characterization, and subtlety.

E-mail me an address, and I will send you a signed form that will give your school permission to photocopy my work for a period of one year.

I'm glad I saw this. I will do the same for a project I'm working on.
