Just bought this book yesterday and I love it! If you're interested in making your own comics I highly recommend it. While most books on making comics merely try to tell you how to draw in a certain style, this book teaches you how to tell stories in comic book form. I'd highly recommend it.

Dear Readers,
Andy, thank you very much for starting a thread about this most important book.
I have been waiting until I am done reading Scott McCloud's Making Comics to talk about it here.
I am half way through and it is so rich in content that I can only read a few pages at a time and then I must digest it.
Be all that as it may, I think this may be the most profound book about comics ever written.
Please check it out and see what you think.
Best wishes to all!

I'm only about half way through it at the moment. By the way, Chapter 5 1/2 is up.

I also cannot read too much without digesting. Thanks so much for posting the link to chapter 5.5! I didn't even know it existed!

My brother has Scott McCloud's Understanding Comics, and wow, the few pages I've read of that book blows my mind. It is the most outstanding comicbook biography that i know've. Theres two pannels that show all these different comic book characters(Look around, and you'll find Usagi "Where's Waldo" style). :D
