kitsune statue from comic con 2002

Post by roel »

I just noticed on the back of issue #67 that there was a statue of Kitsune on the back cover. It's the top right pic of Stan and you can see the statue on his left side. Does anybody have pics of this statue or any info about it?

If it was in a plastic cube, it was made by a fan whose name escapes me right now.

He has done a few figures over the years. He gave me the Kitsune and an Ino figure. Unfortunately, the Kitsune was damaged during the con and transit home. The figure had broken off the wooden base.

That sure is a shame! I remember seeing the photo with the statue in it and it sure was a cool looking.

Yes, the one in the plastic container is the one I was talking about. That's too bad that it was damaged. Maybe someone that was from the 2002 comic con has a picture of it.

There are some pics of it at the UYD's SDCC 2002 page, but they don't show a whole lot of detail. Click on the thumbnails to get the full size pics, which show some detail. There's probably about 4-5 pics that give you good angles....

Someone else had more detailed close-up pics. Give me some time while I jog the old memory.....

Thanks for sending me to that page Todd. I did get to see the pics but they are a bit small to be able to see any details. The sculpt looks pretty nice even in that distance though.
