Unanswered question

you know... nobody really answered that question about why people are animals but horses are still horses...

it seems most "animals" have been replaced by lizards, with the exception of birds and horses

wouldnt it make more sense (and be cooler) if people rode big lizards instead of horses?

also... almost all the characters are mammals

EXCEPT Hebi, who should just be another wild animal... or nun.

So if an exception can be made for reptiles, there should for other cool stuff too! There should be bird characters with like wings and stuff, and they could fight the bat ninjas in like... aerial swordfights.

Dear Readers,
"you know... nobody really answered that question about why people are animals but horses are still horses... "
I think "why" is because Sensei Sakai likes it that way.
I am still wondering about why Goofy walks on two legs, talks and lives in a humanlike house while Pluto walks on four legs, does not talk and lives in a dog house. They are both dogs, right?
Thank you all for the fun!
Best wishes to all.

I'm guessing you haven't played kingdom hearts.

goofy walks on two legs because his evolution was sped up by the sheer awesome within his DNA.

Yes, yes, yes! I've been wondering about the same thing for years and everyone I've tried to talk to about it has just thought that I must be a nutter without anything better to think about. I'm so relieved that I'm not the only one.

In "Shades of Green", Gen is referred to as "the rhino", so even if the anthropomorphic characters see each other as being human, perhaps they also differentiate between their animal species. Hmmm. I think it's best if we just enjoy the awesome stories that Stan keeps creating for us, without worrying about things like this too much.

well I think that the animals that the characters are may also highlight their characteristics.

for example, both katsuichi and mifune are big cats, a lion and tiger. wise and courageous.

and gen is a rhino. kind of a gentle giant (though he tries to hide it :P).

a similar kind of thing is what stray dog is like. he can be mean, but he's friendly at heart.

if anyone else can think of ways that the character's animal identity goes with their personalities, go ahead and hypothesize!

I always wondered how Snoopy could sleep on top of a pointed doghouse -- and why Donald Duck never wore pants!

With anthropomorphic stories it's best to come with willing suspension of disbelief fully engaged!

By the way, Hebi may not exactly be a snake, if I remember well he's got more teeth than an honest snake would have. Not to mention his size.

what's a few extra teeth and enhanced size when compared to the things the other animals get... things like thumbs!
