Now Back In Print--Almost!
Updated 2/13/07

Hey, thanks to all of you for showing up in such record numbers to the Usagi Yojimbo Roast, which we recently celebrated in the pages of Usagi Yojimbo #100. Now that life is back to normal--or as normal as things ever get in the crazy comic-book worlds that make up the universe of Dark Horse--the rabbit ronin is on the road again, following the way of Bushido, the samurai code of conduct that stresses frugality, loyalty, mastery of martial arts, and honor to the death. And if that Jei-possessed Usagi on the cover of issue #101 is any indication, death could be a lot sooner than later!

In the meantime, though, we’ve been very busy bunnies ourselves here, hopping around the old Dark Horse compound, trying to update, correct, and finally get all those Usagi trades back into print. These days, if you're not at the comics shop the day an issue goes on sale, you might never see it again--and more and more of you are turning onto Usagi Yojimbo at your local library or bookstore. In addition to the Space Usagi trade paperback, Stan Sakai has now written and drawn twenty volumes’ worth of Usagi stories, with book 21, The Mother of Mountains, due for summer release (more about that next time).

New readers, as well as old, can catch up on Usagi’s past adventures by reading the trades. Problem is, several of them have been out of print for a while. That will all change in just a few months! As of May 2007, every single Dark Horse Usagi Yojimbo trade collection will be back in print and available through your friendly neighborhood comic-book retailer. Once again you can thrill to Usagi’s adventures with the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles in UY book 8: Shades of Death; or meet up with Nakamura Koji in UY book 11: Seasons and follow his warrior pilgrimage all the way to UY book 17: Duel at Kitanoji, culminating in the final showdown between Nakamura Koji and Usagi’s former teacher, Katsuichi-sensei; and along the way you can learn about the legendary blade, Kusanagi, in the Eisner Award-winning UY book 12: Grasscutter.

Got the winter doldrums? Don’t worry, ’cause spring is right around the corner, and Usagi is way cooler than the Easter Bunny--and soon to bring all your favorite UY stories to your very own bookshelf.

P.S. Make sure to read the great interview we did with Stan. And while you're at it, check out the step by step process of the creation of the cover for Usagi Yojimbo Book 21. Just click here.
