Greetings !
:D am glad someones not shy to say they'r a bit back on the story - I was introduced to UY about 3-4 months ago & man i couldnt stop at one book. I live in New Zealand & there's not many places one would run into UY - but i found UY at the Library !!!! and I cannot believe the readership UY has - all the books are perpetually requested by someone so you've got to be fast. Well going back to asking about characters - Does Usagi ever have a show down with Lord Hikiji??? (I think he was only ever drawn once in book #1) Is Hikiji an Anthromorph cause he looked human???

(sorry I havent really attempted to answer your questions but was hoping when your questions get answered, mine would too)

Lord Hikiji IS a human. You see a human in UY every once in a while.

I thought that Usagi Yojimbo comics didn't have humans.

Well, calling Groo a human might be a little stretching the definition of "human"...besides, he may kill anybody calling him human, just because he thinks he has been insulted.

But more to the point:

@Usagi: I don't know what the last story you've read is; when Usagi parted with Jotaro, he traveled on his own for a pretty long time; we had a couple of stories with relatively new characters such as Inspector Ishida, Kitsune and priest Sanshobo, but Gen, Stray Dog turn up, too. These stories might lead and hint to the coming story arc centering around the origin of Jei, I think.
A bigger story arc is "The Treasure of the Mother of Mountains", where Usagi teams up with Tomoe; after that we only had an occational glimpse of Gen and Stray Dog (I keep forgetting his "real" name; silly me), but they are sure to make a heavy appearance pretty soon, since they are hot on the trail of Inazuma.
She, who is still possessed by Jei, is traveling with Keiko, looking for Usagi.
Usagi, after leaving Tomoe (they share a marvelous tea ceremony; be sure not to miss that!), had a little trouble with Koroshi, the guild of assassins, and was accompanied by a handsome, but talkative and naive (not the best of character traits, I'm afraid... ) girl named Mayumi.

Oh yes, and Chizo makes an appearance, too... a very important one...

I hope to be of service without giving away too much; you'll have a lot of fun catching up, I think...

@Pri: No, Hikiji and Usagi never met again after their short clash at Adashi Plain; and Hikiji has only heard Usagi's name once (as far as we know; but beware, he might have spies everywhere  ), at the end of the story "Lone Rabbit and Child", Hikiji's only appearance to date.
Yes, he does look human (although a little manga-ish), but maybe with him it's the other way around.
Now, what would you call that... a human acting like a beast... oh well, I guess it's just normal human behaviour

There may be other human guests in the UY-world, but none of them plays any significant role; they are more or less back ground crowd (such as Calvin and Hobbes or the Mickey mouse cameo).
And, as stated above, I wouldn't count in Groo as a human; but that's another story, it's mainly between Groo and me... :D

Hoping to be of service here, too.

Ah, btw, welcome (back) to the Dojo, you two;

:) I think I remember reading "The Treasure of the Mother of Mountains", that the Issue Stan set me for preference material last year. I remember a story!- Yay! :3 (Thank you Stan- you helped me remeber something and you were only being kind- Love you- tee hee)

Right now I am reading Issues 92 and 93- I can only grab what's available at my comic shop whenever I come home to GA- but I will start mail ordering the issues once I get myself settled in good ol' FL.- I cant wait to get cought up- and be able to have a normal chat :)- Iv'e just been a lurker for a while and boy....no fun hehehe.

O.O I thought "Stray Dog" was just a normal "STRAY DOG!"--haha oh my goodness... my post dont count too much on pull then, having a different thought of charactors....thank you so much for the quick over-lay

And to say.....I dident know either there were Humans in UY......:) Cool! (thats like acctually seeing one of the Hunters in Bambi!))
