But I think the author has mixed up Groo with Usagi a bit, eh?

No, there is also an 8 page Usagi Yojimbo story entitled "Death and Taxes" which was published by Dark Horse Comics in DARK HORSE PRESENTS… #140 which came out in February 1999.
