I was just flicking through my Mother of Mountains h/c tonight and at the start there's a flashback to Noriko and Tomoe having a duel. Cue five years later to the start of the story...
Anyhow, way back in Albedo #3 when Usagi first met Tomoe, she said she had been a retainer with Noriyuki for three years. Given that neither Tomoe or Noriko were wearing any clan gear during the flashback, does that mean this was supposed be during the time Noriko was staying with her (and Tomoe's father)?
Following on that logic, can it really be that less than two years in real time have passed since the tale of Usagi began in 1984? It's a bit hard to believe. My only possible thought is that the flashback was during a time where Tomoe is with the Geishu and Noriko is with Lord Sanada and either one is visiting the other because they are (distance wise) somewhat close.

Not sure myself, but I like to think time passes very slowly in the UY comics. That way Usagi never gets too old to kick some butt!
As for continuity issues, I defer to Stan...with so many stories done, I'm surprised he can keep the continuity in check as he has. I vaguely remember reading here on the 'Board that he does maintain some sort of continuity log on the side. I would imagine such a thing would be required after creating a world like this with so many stories completed.

Oh I can fully understand... I have a hard enough time keeping track of my own things
Then again, I have a knack of putting these things together in my mind at times. Having pulled out CS #1 tonight to reread, Tomoe mentions to Usagi that Lord Mataichi (Noriyuki's father) died a few years ago. That suggests more than two to me... so to fit contuinity wise it would suggest more the flashback in TotMoM did happen after Tomoe became a Geishu retainer...

LOL Marvel's answer to everything now it seems. Next time I do something wrong and my wife is mad at me I am going to blame magic for it.estee wrote:Just as long as Usagi doesn't make a deal with Mephisto to turn back time so Lord Mifune actually wins the war, Stan can do whatever he wants with continuity.
Any Marvel fans should know what I'm talking about. It's magic!
