111--with spoilers.

My review is up at Comixtreme. Click the link in my sig if you like. ;)

Just wanted to add that I really like Sakura.

Though I do wonder why she didn't do the traditional greeting for Yakuza when she entered the den--the half bow, with the hand outstretched or is it a more modern act?

Still...loved her ink and the funky hair do.

I'd like to know when Stan quit drawing Usagi with "eyes"... he's mostly all dotted eyes, and it finally hit me how his Usagi style has changed again. I guess that is the progression of the artist. :D

Anyway, I like this character as well, though Gen's knowing her was rather funny as he kept it quiet from Usagi. I look forward to the next issue of this storyline.

Like always, a great story. I thought it was pretty nice how Gen got in some great snipes.

Gen to Sakura: "Usagi can be iritating, but that's not reason enough to kill him!"

Gen to Usagi: "I have a life outside of you, you know!"

And his reply to Usagi's comment "A pecular person."

"Yeah. That's what people tell me about you."

And we now know Gen really likes pickles.....

As I said before, another great story (well, first half of the story).

I loved the interaction between Usagi and Gen; Usagi picking at Gen about his leg looking appetizing (well, I wondered: did he really never saw it before? I mean, they have shared a room many times before, Gen was even wounded and treated by a doctor once....); :D
And to see Usagi fall for Gen's short cuts again (literally)....

And, yes, I hope to see a lot more of Sakura; I think with the demise of Inazuma there is room for a strong female character.

Looking forward to getting the next issue :P
Greetings from overseas

The line from Gen "I have a life outside of you, you know!", I found so funny, I couldn't stop chuckling to myself for ten minutes or so. In fact when I finished reading it I was still chuckling.

Another fantastic issue.

However, I disagree with the letter in the back of the issue. I dont believe Inazuma's death was a case of women in the refridgerator as Inazuma was a strong femaile lead, whos death was truly tragic but didnt happen to make Usagi angry or develop his character further. It was just another tragic death who lost their life to Jei.

Sakura's a fascinating new addition to the UY universe. I'm eager to see where Stan takes her.

Gen and Sakura would make for a well-matched couple, although I feel Kitsune is a better choice. Of course, Sakura's only had one issue to prove herself so far...

Awesome issue I really loved it. And unless I'm mistaken we have a new animal.

I love that Sakura, who's a skunk, is named for the fragrant cherry blossom. She's a great looking character. Gary (my hubby) is crazy abou t this issue as well. Yaay Stan
.
I love him when he's pissed off

I loved the humor that ran through the last two issues.
I actually did laugh out loud a couple of times, because of the timing, the art, the dialog of the characters--such a delight.
A nice balance for some of the serious stories. And to see we don't know Gen as much as we know Usagi....

I like the humor too. Jokes are often my favorite part of Mr. Sakai's storytelling. I loved the page/panels where Usagi is falling down the mountain. Great visual storytelling.

As Morna-san said, Sakura - great name.

Peace, maka

I think the person who wrote the letter was the same one that posted the same objections in the Dojo when issue 109 came out.

Hmm, I disagreed with him then too. :)

I guess it's because I agree with Gail Simone (a fantastic writer) that a lot of times women characters are killed for a plot point for the male character. I just don't see it in the case of Inazuma.

Well, in Usagi plenty of male characters are killed off for plot reasons.

Remeber Snitch's brother-in-law was in like three panels and then boom he's dead.

He would have been used as a plot point had Stan wanted Inazuma to live in the end.

Personally, I think the ending we have was the better of the two. Though, I would have enjoyed a duel between Inazuma and Usagi.

I picked this one up at the same time as 110. So even though I had to wait a while for the first one, I was able to get two new UYs in one day! :D

Another great story. I also like the new character Sakura. She's not samurai class and isn't allowed to carry swords, but gets around it with a whip. And wow does she brandish a whip!

I just have one question: What is the signficance of the tatoos? All the gamblers were imediately awestruck when she revealed her tatoos.
