Let me introduce myself and ask a question to Mr SAKAI

Post by FredCC »

Hi,

My name is Frederic.I'm a brand new member to this list.
I'm a 27 years old guy from France (well it's not my fault!).
I've been reading Usagi Yojimbo for ages (at least!).I enjoyed it so much and it interested me in the Japanese culture so much that I had to find a japanese girlfriend...who is now my wife...

OK enough of my private life. Here is the part dedicated to Mr Sakai:
Now that I'm a grown up, I'd be more than interested in buying some of your original art.I mean B&W covers or Colors TPB covers.John Igashi told me
"Stan Sakai is the nicest artist you could meet. I believe

that Stan would sell pieces via mail."(his own words!).

Could you please email me to let me know if you still have covers available.I have no favorite one as most of them are quite good...

Regards,
Frederic

Hi Frederic,

Sharon and I were in France last year and really enjoyed it. Besides Angouleme, we spent about a week in Paris. My contribution to the upcoming Autobiographix anthology is about that trip.

As a rule, I don't sell art through the mails. It just gets to be too much of a hassle with packaging, lost art, etc. However, e-mail me. Maybe we can make a trade for some French albums or something. I'm a fan of Michetz' Kogaratsu. The last volume I have is #9. I also like Loisel. The last volume of Peter Pan I have is "Crochet". I also enjoy Toto L'ornithorynque, Aberzen (beyond volume 1), Blacksad (beyond volume 1), and others.

I'll probably be in Europe sometime next year. I'm not yet sure of the country(ies).
