Signed & Numbered Limited Editions.... Who has what?
I, as well as some of the other Usagi fans on the forum here, am also a fan of Sergio Aragones' Groo comic series. Being such, I am also a member of the Groop mailing list. One of the things which someone in the Groop has done is started compiling a list of what s/n books, prints, and statues the various Groop members own. I think it would be kind of cool if such a list might be started and maintained for Dojo members and their s/n ltd ed. books and prints - especially with so many just being auctioned on ebay. These are what I have....

I actually think that's a great idea
I can go through what I own and list it some point, might have time tomorrow... I think such a collection of information would also help people find various items they didn't know existed! It would certainly enlighten me towards bits I can put in a giant "wants list" to hunt for
(for example I'd forgotten about the golden Usagi card until it appeared on eBay last week)
Also any links to pictures of said items may help so people can identify them if they are unsure of the proper title or name of the prints for example. I'd love to see the Dragonflies print, I've only seen mention of it once before. Most of my stuff is on my Flickr account anyhows, so I can refer and link back to that.

It is the same image which leads off the story "Tihi obrok" or "A Quiet Meal" as it is more commonly known as.Mayhem wrote:I'd love to see the Dragonflies print, I've only seen mention of it once before.
This scan is from USAGI YOJIMBO: ZEC SAMURAJ Knjiga prva (book 1)
I don't have a decent photo of it, but it is a 11 X 17 b/w print (measurements in inches)

Ah okay... I didn't realise the two were the same because you put 1986 against it. Todd has it down as 1988 or 1989 on this site in the posters section. I guess both are correct; the page is from 1986 but the print wasn't made until 1988...? I'd seen one other reference to "dragonflies" before and didn't know if this was the same as the Quiet Meal print...

Steve, I also think that's a great Idea. I wonder how we could display the info so it could usefully be accessed. If we created a section that had all the items listed and then underneath list dojo members and their corsepondiding numbers. I've also always wanted to know who has all the original covers. How cool would that be to go into the cover gallery and see who owns each and be able to account for everything that has been sold. I would imagine most people who own original cover art are fans, therefore I would think we could track down most of them. I guess for now we could list all are items in " The Stan Sakai Art Gallery "

As you can see I'm missing most of the books in the teens. At the time I was buying a house having kids and making my way in the world so unfortunately my collecting was put on hold. Of course I would like to have a complete set of hardbound books but with what they have been going for on EBay and the state of the economy that may be an unobtainable goal. My original cover has to be the coolest find ever, I still cant believe I found it at a comic book shop !
Collectibles I would most like to see.... I would love to see a series of limited edition statues by Roel, those statues are absolutely amazing. The reprinting of all the Fantagraphics volumes in a hard bound collection that Stan just announced sounds cool. What I would really like to see is a super special edition reprinting of all the Hard bounds in one edition. They could be full comic size and have 3 to a slip case, kind of like the Carl Barks Library.

I posted the date of 1986 because that is the date on the artwork and I had no other date to go by.
"AUTUMN MOON / USAGI & SPOT" are the two most descriptive titles for that print, in my opinion.SHAMSKI wrote:1988 TITLE ? 1ST SILK SCREEN PRINT ( # 96 / 200 )
I love that cover art! One of the few water-color pieces Stan did for individual issues. Mostly just the book covers got painted...
I wonder if there is any way to format a table in the forum here?

I believe the "Portrait", "Images", and "Duel" prints all came in both regular un-numbered versions as well as s/n versions.
Anyways, here are some images....

The Dragon Bellow Conspiracy print (un-numbered)

The Blue Portrait print

The Belgium Print
And here is a link to more info on the Belgium Print
http://www.b-gevaar.com/store.asp?lang= ... printid=53
(dealing with b-gevaar and Enigma Press takes a LOT of patience (ask go!
). I also have no idea if they actually still have any in stock.

The "Draw the World Together" Charity Auction Print
The original artwork and five signed color photocopies were auctioned off to help raise money for the charity group, along with artwork from quite a few other artists.
D'uh! I knew there was a reason why I had listings for both a "Dragon" and a "Dragon Bellows Conspiracy" print! The Dragon Bellow print was hiding on the wall of the little alcove directly behind me while I'm sitting at the computer! And I had just decided it must have been a duplicate listing and deleted the entry from my listMayhem wrote:Does anyone have pictures of the Dragon Bellow Conspiracy, Belgium and Portrait prints (Steve?) Enigma (a really good name indeed)...
Mayhem or SHAMSKI,
Is the the tip-in plate of Book 1 glued to the interior front cover or the first page? Mine isn't glued on and I wanted to put it in the correct spot.
Thanks.
I just noticed SHAMSKI has Space Usagi 29/500. If I added that to my collection I would be on my way to having a complete run of 29's. Two down, 21 to go.

Gaffey, The tip in plate is glued to the interior front cover but I would have actually preferred it on the 1st page because it covers up the interior art.
Regarding AP's , some are numbered like my Book 1 10/10 AP and some just say AP, how many AP's and PC's usually accompany a printing ?
Mayhem I noticed you had several PC's I assume that's a publisher copy, it seemed like there were alot of those. Did you pick these up from Stan at SDCC ?
Steve I noticed both of our book # 20's are missing a number I wonder if these were AP's or just unnumbered by accident?
I always thought it would be cool to have a matching numbered set, I have no problem making an even trade for your Space Usagi if that would bring you closer.I just noticed SHAMSKI has Space Usagi 29/500.
