Weird thing about the Jei books

I guess a lot of people already noticed this, but it hit me dumbfounded when I realized it. So far in Usagi Yojimbo, there's a strange formula that has allowed us to tell which books Jei, or at least The Demon entity that drives him (since it's now taken a new host), will have a significant role in.

Jei has so far had a significant role in book 3, and then in book 6 (3x2), then in book 12 (6x2), and now, since book 23 collects #s 94-102, book 24 (12x2).

He's appeared in other books, of course, but those are the books where he's clearly in the spotlight.

Strange. Hard to believe the series actually got twice as big before Jei finally made his big comeback since his death in Grasscutter!

Is this intentional, Stan? And if so, please don't tell me we won't get another big Jei story until book 48!!! :D

I don't want to see the next "big Jei story" too soon, as I have an eerie feeling it could be the last Jei story...

It is all just coincidence.

Thanks, Stan, good to know it's just coincidence and we won't have to wait that long. Hehehe.

It is a strange coincidence, though.
