What's up next for Usagi?

About a year ago Stan sketched out Usagi's future (at least for a dozen or so issues) but by my reckoning we've overtaken those predictions now.
All I've heard since then is Todd Shogun dropping hints about the upcoming Tengu Wars story arc.
Come on Stan, give us a little sneak preview of what we've got to look forward to in 2004!

I'm currently finishing up UY 72 and will start 73 about a week from now. It's still the Father and Son story arc which will conclude in UY 75 or so. This story arc is made up of short stories. Beyond that, I'm not certain.
Tengu Wars will not be published for a couple more years. I was thinking of The Treasure of the Mother of Mountains or Hideyoshi's Gold as the next major arc. Of course, I've been itching to do a few Inspector Ishida mysteries as well.

Although both of those story arcs seem cool too

I too have a large hankerin' for more Ishida-- he's a nice more-brain, less-muscle character (which I notice, most of the recurrent folks in UY are sort of planted on the apex of the brains/brawn curve, which is YET another difference between this and most comix. Gen is still a brute, of course)

I don't know if this has ever been raised before, but the longer it goes on the more I'm impressed. Issue 69. The sisty-ninth issue. How cool is that? It feels like only yesterday that Usagi moved over to Dark Horse and even then we were only guaranteed three issues. Sixty nine. Congratulations Stan, and to many more to come.
I'd like to see the Komori come back but the Neko wil do for now.

Same here. It's even more impressive to know that #69 is actually the 123rd regular issue of Usagi. That doesn't include the GNs, Summer Special, Color Specials, or Art books.

Exactly. How many books can you think of which have maintained the same writer/creator/artist that are still as fresh as the first issue. That's fair isn't it? (I'd like to think I can be reaonably objective about that.) It's a pretty impressive feat in the industry, I'm sure.

i think that usagi, Katsune, Gennosuke, and zato-ino should meet up with the turtles and have a few last episodes with them together.
