New books for my collection...

Post by Steve Hubbell »

I got ambitious last night after work and ordered myself a few books... Image

I have been waiting for the new Paquet edition to be released for quite some time now, and so far I have volumes 1 - 14 in the series.

The editions from Mandragora and Egmont is another thing altogether. I only have a couple from each of them currently, so these three volumes will almost double my collection of Polish editions.

On a side note, January 7th, 2009 saw the release of the third Usagi Yojimbo book from Indonesian publisher Gramedia Penerbit Utama.
Usagi Yojimbo: Antara Hidup dan Mati (Brink of Life and Death).

Hungarian publisher Vad Virágok Könyvműhely published the fifth volume in their series of Usagi Yojimbo translation back in December.
Usagi Yojimbo: Magányos kecske és kölyök (Lone Goat and Kid).

Crew, Usagi Yojimbo's publisher in the Czech Republic, also released a translated edition of Usagi Yojimbo Book 5 in December.
Usagi Yojimbo: Kozel samotář a dítě (Lone Goat and Kid)

Going back to November, Italian publisher Bottero Edizioni released a new Usagi book which collects issues 13 - 17 of the Dark Horse series (and the first 128 pages or so of the Grasscutter trade paperback).

Thank you. I did not know the status of some of these publishers. It has been a while since we received comps from a couple of them.

I'm glad Paquet brought out the new French volume just in time for the Angouleme Comics Festival.

Hiroshi Hirata is a guest this year at Angouleme Festival.

About Paquet, Usagi 15 just has been released wednesday, and it was good since a lot of fans here were worrying about that (2008 has been obviously a bad year for Paquet and Usagi publication were erratic...)

Steve, you should have asked me, i was wondering yesterday if i had to buy you this one or not :)

I ordered them through Empik.... Surprisingly, they seem to list more of the English language editions than they do the Polish language editions.

Sweet! I didn't know Mr. Sakai did Arzach.

Tundra was one of my favorite companies. They produced such great sketchbooks, From Hell, Madman, Cases, and Gregory!

Congratulations Steve!

Peace, maka

I never realized that Stan went through one of those Van Gogh influenced impressionest painting style stages before...

This is a scan of the actual cover of the Paw Prints edition of Usagi Yojimbo Book 1 which I recently bought. I find it hard to believe that all of the copies of this book which Paw Prints released with their new "library binding" have the same printing / production problem as the customer service associate for the ebay seller I bought it from is claiming.

That is strange. What edition is this? What year was it printed? I know Fantagraphics recently went back to press on this. I hope the entire print run is not misprinted like this.

Heh, that's weird. It looks sort of like a Picasso Usagi. :D

Amazon did not list a publication date for the library binding, but this is what was listed on the ebay description. The date could be for the new Fantagraphic edition or the Paw Print binding....

Publisher: Paw Prints Category: JUVENILE FICTION
ISBN-10: 1435213793
ISBN-13: 9781435213791

Publication Year: 2007

Picasso! That is the artist I was trying to think of, not Van Gogh.
