Does anyone know if Sanguine still has the Usagi Yojimbo RPG license?
I am a big fan of roleplaying games and of Usagi Yojimbo so really wanted more books for this game. However there seems to be no details on Sanguine's page.
The Mouse Guard RPG looks amazing and would love to see a similar Usagi game with such production values.

No, Sanguine no longer has the license.

Bummer. No more Usagi Yojimbo RPG.
I guess I will wait patiently for someone else to pick up the license and come out with a new RPG.
Thanks Mr. Sakai!

If Wizards of the Coast got the license for a new Usagi RPG, that would be huge. They do make nice books. As for d20, I wouldnt mind a streamlined version like Green Ronin's True20, but I think d20 is too crunchy for Usagi.
If someone does get the license again, and they go with d20, they better make it OGL because I hate not having a complete game. (d20 requires the D&D Player's Handbook or the SRD to play for all the rules)
As far as miniatures go, that would be awesome. There were Usagi miniatures out there at one point, but they are really really hard to find now.

But, as MikeM said, they are really hard to come by these days...

I wouldn't mind if Capcom got the UY license. Or better yet, Capcom got the license to do a Dark Horse crossover game. Unless, of course, Stan wouldn't want to see Usagi fighting Ryu from Street Fighter or Souki from Shin Onimusha: Dawn of Dreams.
But I'm guessing Dark Horse isn't that popular a company since I haven't seen any Dark Horse comics outside of comic shops.

Capcom is a video game company (I can't wait to get Street Fighter IV) Wizards of the Coast and Green Ronin are a roleplaying company. (Pen and paper style. I hate the fact that video games stole that term from us)

Ah, I see. So none of the companies listed were video game companies. I knew Wizards was a card game company but...
My apologies. When I think of an PRG, I usually think of Final Fantasy, Dragon Quest, or Zelda...

No problem. Most kids nowadays immediately think of Everquest, Final Fantasy, World of Warcraft when they hear the term roleplaying game instead of Dungeons and Dragons and the like.

If it was allowed, why not use the open gaming license.

Of course the rights would have to be given to the author or authors by stan to move on it for publication sake. I'm tempted to do a d20 ogl port (private not for sale of course***) but have held off as I'm not completely up to speed on the usagi world/material (yet)
Personally I'd think he'd rather wait a few years and then find a company that can give it a unique feel like the previous companies did.
The alternative is for a
Usagi Sourcebook to be written (heavily drawn by Stan The Man please!!!) which could be used by any GM in any given RPG system. That would have a cross-genre appeal to book collectors, art collectors, and rpg folk. A full timeline, background stories, character write-ups (not rpg system specific). I think it would be a better marketing plan. But who am I... Sorry to ramble.
Just food for thought... I haven't had a chance to play the older systems, but do plan on it. In interim I'm tempted to just use palladium's tmnt rules and just port it privately for personal use on tabletop.
