UY animated movie anyone?

With Green Lantern, Watchmen, Iron Man II, etc. - all these comic book movies that came or are coming out, I'd like to UY on the big screen.

Especially seeing some CGI samurai action would be awesome.

What do you all think?

I know this has been discussed a while back and would like to bring it up again.

I'd really like to see a stop-motion UY animated movie in a style similar to Fantastic Mr. Fox, but I'm not holding my breath for it.

Stan has mentioned that UY has been optioned for a movie, but nearly every book or comic gets optioned at some point, so don't get too excited about that.

There's actually been some talk about an animated Groo movie for a while, but in the letters page for Hogs of Horder #4, Mark Evanier says that it's on hold again.

yes a feature length movie fully representing the comic book series we all love would be sweet...I would enjoy to see different approches as to visual effects, costumes etc...more classical ways as with puppeteers, miniature models and new technigues like green screens and so forth come together....I think that you'll get the best projects if you combine the old and the new ways in clever moves....sort of how they revived dinosaurs in the jurassic park movies using computer visual effects, animatronic puppeteers, real sets etc.....
but nevertheless the tone and characters are the important ingridient here in my opinion!.....

After watching Kung Fu Panda, I REALLY wanted to see a Usagi Yojimbo movie.

I like the Star Wars: The Clone Wars set up. Their graphics are amazing.

And yes on the Kung Fu Panda reference.

well, there is one way I'd love to see a Usagi film done, but it's not gonna happen... 'cause I'd like an animated version, drawn by Stan but using watercolours like Yokai.
and as cool as that'd be, I think I'd rather Stan spent the next 25 years crafting more Usagi comics (although if sensei were to do this, I'd hardly argue with him!)

alternatively, Studio Ghibli would make a fantastic Usagi.

I really hadn't thaught about the possibillity of an animated movie, yet...I support this wish very strongly being a huge fan of hand drawn animation!!!!...

I was fortunate to visit Studio Ghibli a few months ago, when I was in Japan with a group from the Savannah College of Art and Design. The studio usually does not do tours of any kind, much less student groups, but I had some inside connections and was able to arrange half the group to go there. It was really neat but much smaller than I expected, but then I'm used to driving past Disney all the time. Here is my Live Journal account of the visit:

Studio Ghibli museum is somewhere I really do need to go (okay, I need to go to Japan full stop) but I feel that it, like everywhere would be the financial death of me.
not that I've got eyes bigger than my wallet or anything.
or an obsession with die-cast toys. or the entire Ghibli output. or Godzilla.

I'd like to think that it'd be the zoetrope room or the scale laputan robot, but...
...I'm kidding no-one, right?
