Contest Time!
Silent Phantom reminded me that I had suggested a contest regarding the sell-out date for San Diego Con (aka Comic-con International: San Diego) passes. We should have really done this a week ago to give everyone an even chance, since passes go on sale today and folks can gauge how fast passes are selling.
But let's have a contest anyway: Guess the official date when the passes sell out--this includes all-day and one-day passes. Your guesses have to be in by midnight Tuesday, February 8, Pacific Time. Post your guesses on this thread. Whoever's guess comes closest to the actual date is the winner.
I suggest you wait awhile before posting to see how passes are selling. However, you run the risk that they sell out before you post. Are they selling individual day passes at this time? I don't know.
The prize will be a T-shirt from my upcoming exhibit at the Japanese-American National Museum. In case they do not make those (though they do plan for one), there will be an alternate prize.

Yes, the day passes are being sold at the same time here...Stan Sakai wrote:I suggest you wait awhile before posting to see how passes are selling. However, you run the risk that they sell out before you post. Are they selling individual day passes at this time? I don't know.
With a breeze comes a storm, but then you'll all be washed away...

The junior badges are for 12-17 years of age, so I guess technically one could go without an adult. The actual "kid" badges are for 11 and under, and for that you do need an adult, but you only get that on-site.cynlee wrote:Yes, they are very close to it-- what's weird is that there are plenty of tickets left for "kids" but nothing for adults. How can kids go without adults?

On the Comic-con website it says, "All Badges are Sold Out". We will take that as official confirmation. Less than 8.5 hours to sell through.
Congratulations, Silent Phantom. You win the T-shirt. Let me know your size.
Comic-con passes will probably go on sale again as people find they cannot go and turn them in for refunds, as has happened in past years. So keep checking the Comic-con site.
