Sketchbook 8 (and others) to order

Post by Stan Sakai »

I will take orders for the new UY Sketchbook 8 from now through August. I also have 6 of the 7 previous sketchbooks. If you want one (or more) send a check or money order in US funds to:

Stan Sakai
PO Box 70876
Pasadena, CA 91117
USA

Sketchbooks 2-8 are $10 each. Please add $2 for postage/handling for 1-2 books. Add another dollar for 3 or more sketchbooks. So, if you want to order 1 sketchbook, that would be $12 ($10 for the book + $2 p/h). For 4 books, that would be $43 ($40 for the 4 sketchbooks + $3 p/h).

SKETCHBOOK #1 IS SOLD OUT. Do not ask for it.

Include a note detailing what you are ordering, your mailing address, and Dojo name or e-mail address in case I need to contact you. Make sure it is legibly written.

The sketchbooks are 8.5x5.5 inches, 28 pages self-covered, black and white. They contain mostly behind the scenes art--character designs, thumbnail drawings, and little seen or unpublished art. Book 3 has a step-by-step look at my creative process. Another has an alternate ending to a story arc.

There are usually sketchbooks posted on eBay after the con, but they are priced up to $40 each without p/h.

Remember, I will be at Baltimore Comic-con in August, and at Montreal in September, so you may want to wait.

If you live outside the US and it is a hassle to get US funds, contact me after I return from Comic-con and we'll figure it out as I have done with others in this situation.

Thanks for making these available, Stan. I'll be sending a check this week for several of the sketchbooks. Would you happen to have a copy of the Spanish sketchbook for sale, or are they all long gone? I'd love to get one if possible.
Thanks,
Casey

I do indeed have the Spanish Sketchbooks. They are $16 each ($15 for the sketchbook + $1 postage. They are about 64 pages, so much thicker and heavier than the other sketchbooks.)

These are, for the most part, different than my sketchbooks. Much of the art is b/w covers from the older comic books and pin ups.

There is no rush to send in an order. I won't get home until next week anyway.

I'd like to buy one spanish sketchbook and one #8 sketchbook.

Maybe it would be an option for the european fans to make an order together?
Or, otherwise, is someone here visiting a con in the U.S. and could bring some sketchbooks with him? That would be great.

Greetings,
Jens

Check mailed! Enjoy the con. I was hoping to make it this year, but it didn't pan out.
Looking forward to the sketchbooks after you've recovered from San Diego!
