Re: 47 Ronin
I stumbled upon the news about 47 Ronin this afternoon (I'm embarrassed that I
may be one of the few Dojo members that didn't know about it yet thanks to a new
job, an upcoming move, and a nearing graduation...not that these are good excuses)
and am really excited to see your take on this Japanese legend. I'm definitely going to
have to go and ask my wife more about in detail to familiarize myself with the tale a
little more.
Some of my favorite Usagi stories have been those that you've intermingled in great
detail with Japanese history (Grasscutter foremost among them) so I know
you're going to knock this out of the park!
Congratulations, and I know I'll be buying a copy (or two) come November!

That is Sengoku Temple in Tokyo, where the 47 are enshrined. Because it is a historical story, I have to deal with actual locations so need a lot of research to get things accurate. Fortunately, I had visited the temple and took a lot of pictures.

Do you know how many issues this is planned for yet Stan?

Re: 47 Ronin
me, too.this will be great!...this also foreshadows that usagi's hiatus will take itself into next year somewhere since issue one won't appear before november 2012 apparently...but it is wonderful to imagine what adventures usagi might encounter in the meantime....

I'm not finished with the first issue, but, I have to admit, I already miss working on Usagi.
47 Ronin will be a 5 issue series.

I finally finished with the art on the first issue. I just learned that the writer is adding two pages to it. He's also the publisher, so what he says goes.

What happens when he says it is now going to be an on-going series because it is looking so cool?

Re: 47 Ronin
Art looks fantastic, so looking forward to this.
I'm happily surprised though, Kazuo Koike serving as editoral consultant. If I may ask Stan, is this the first time you've worked with him or met him? Or is he helping Richardson more on the writing side of this?
Either way, can't wait for this to come out.

Re: 47 Ronin
I read the interview at bleedingcool.com where Stan says there will be a TPB when the series concludes. Does anyone know if there is likely to be a hardcover?
