Usagi's Romantic Interests

In the character descriptions, I saw certain characters described as romantic interests for Usagi. In "Usagi's world", do cats, rabbits, etc. mingle in this way...or am I reading too much into it?

The way I see it, in UY anthropomorphic characters are more of an aesthetic choice rather than a key factor in their behavior and biology, except for very specific cases like lord Hebi (a snake) or the Komori (bat) and Mogura (mole) Ninja clans. Usagi (a rabbit) already has a son (Jotaro, another rabbit) with Mariko (yet another rabbit), but I remember from reading somewhere in the FAQs that Stan said that if Usagi had a (hypothetical) relationship with Tomoe Ame (a cat), then their male descendants would be rabbits (like Usagi) and their female descendants would be cats (like Tomoe). There aren't any limitations regarding relationships between different species, because (in theory) these species don't really exist, they only look different one from another.

It'd be fun to watch some experiments though. What if Gen had a relationship with a Komori kunoichi (female ninja)...? Err.. Maybe it's not such a good idea... I don't think it'd be very pleasant to the eye...

I got this idea from A Muppets Christmas Carol, where Kermit's (Bob Crachit) and Miss Piggy's kids were divided up into species and genders--that is, boy frogs and girl pigs. This sounds more appealing than a family of pink, amphibious pig/frogs.

Not to mention that after a few generations the planet is populated by hideous freaks with pinkish-tan skin, binocular vision, and five digits at the end of each limb... eeeeeuw.
