Any chance you will be at Boston this year? I read on line that sergio will be there, just thought maybe you will be too.

When is Boston? April or May? I don't think I will be there. However, I may be at Baltimore in September.

Dear Stan,

Do you have an itinerary of appearances for 2013 yet?
Mostly concerned with any So Cal (LA/OC) appearances.
I missed you most of this year, but might still be able to catch you at the JAMN in December.

I will not be at Boston in 2013.

I will be at Gem City Comic-con in Dayton, OH, then a week later at WonderCon Anaheim (Easter weekend).

San Diego in July, of course.

I don't know the exact dates for these events off-hand, but will post them as they get closer.

Sharon's health is still an issue, so I have be declining most invitations.

I'll try to make it to WonderCon.

I hope Sharon is doing ok, and I'd like to extend my best wishes to the entire Sakai clan during the holidays...

Understandable. Family well being is most important. Well I hope to catch up with you at one of these conventions. If not, I'll have to try and arrange for a commission/pick up at one of the cons you are attending.

I just confirmed Boston--but not for a comic convention. I will be giving a presentation at the Boston Museum of Fine Arts on Saturday, May 11. There will be a samurai armor exhibit, and they will be hosting samurai-related events every weekend. The museum will give away a limited number of Usagi drawings and comics that day. I will also be doing a signing after the presentation, however I will not be selling anything myself.

The second session of badges is on sale right now, but considering I clicked right on 5pm (when it opened) and I'm still not in anywhere, then I don't think I'll be getting a badge, as I've seen reports of people already reporting being past 40,000 at ten minutes back. So much for SDCC anymore I guess...

I've been trying to attend SDCC for several years now, but I guess I'm not rabidly fanatic enough. Reminds me of people camping out during Black Friday. I think I've passed that era of my life.

Yeah, it's completely nuts any more, from badges to hotels to the throngs of people that make it difficult to relax anywhere. I doubt I would go if I didn't have a booth to hide behind. That makes it more manageable.

I realllly want to try to get a watercolor from Stan this year. Those of you who have them (or Stan yourself), what do those tend to run? I suspect they are probably out of my price range, but no harm asking.

You mean the ones that Stan sells that are done for the tip-in h/c pages, and other covers? Usually $800-1000 depending.

In related news, thanks to a very kind offer, I should be making my way to San Diego this year. Hopefully I wlll be booking my flights this week. So yes, this means I'll be running the usual European shopping list closer to the time :P
