Dear Mr. Sakai,
I have enjoyed Usagi Yojimbo ever since my father brought home a copy of ‘The Ronin’ from the library. Since then, I have read all twenty-eight books and loved every one. I have noticed that Usagi has fought with bandits, crime bosses and their thugs, assassins, ninja, demons, monsters of all kinds, and even Leonardo, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle, but no pirates.
I’ve done some research about a certain group known as the Wokou Sea Pirates. They terrorized the coast of China and Japan in the middle of the 16th century. I know the Wokou were fifty years before Usagi’s adventures, but as in ‘The Mystery of the Hairpin Murders’, Kabuki was not to come for twenty years. I’m sure you could find some way to have Usagi meet them. Thank you for writing almost thirty volumes of Usagi Yojimbo. Kampai!
Sincerely,
Ethan Cragg

Re: Wokou Pirates
Pirates are cool!
Especially cursed pirate girls!
Anyways, just a quick note to say 1.) that I moved your post to the main forum here.... and 2.) Welcome, Ethan, to the Usagi Yojimbo Dojo!
And now back to your regularly scheduled message....
