How can I get my hands on this stuff?

Hi all-
I read Usagi on and off about 5 years ago, but I have long since drifted away. I discovered these comics the other day on one of my shelves, and was immediately intrigued. I have two questions about the series:

-Firstly, is the comic even in print anymore? I see accounts on the web of an issue released last january but am unsure if issues are released monthly or not.

-I see volumes and books for sale online.... what exactly are these, how many of them are out there, and any idea how much it would cost to obtain a fairly complete collection? Is there perhaps one massive encyclopedia out or on the way?

Any insight is appreciated

Yo' ; Glad to have you onboard again! I have been a Usagi fan and collector since my college days( many moons ago). In answer to your questions...1) YES! the comic is still in publication. It's published monthly( I think) by"Darkhorse Comics". 2) Those "books" are called Trade Paperbacks and are collections of the comics. Usually 4 or 5 issues at a time. And are usually one continued storyline.Right now I think they're up to book No.#18. So...look for them at your local comic shop.( And ifin' they don't carry 'em...you just ask'em to!!) Abayo...Ja mata!!!

The Usagi comics are published about 9 times a year by Dark Horse Comics.

The 18th trade collection, Travels with Jotaro, will be on sale in June. Each book collects about 7 or 8 issues of the comics. Almost all of them are in print. I was just informed by Fantagraphics that Book 1 is sold out, but will be reprinted September. Fantagraphics publishes the first 7 trade collections, and Dark Horse is publishing the rest (including a Space Usagi trade).
