The con is upon us once again....

Post by Tounian »

Since I started the thread last time, who's all planning on being at the con in San Diego? It's a big deal for Stan and Usagi, so I hope there will be alot of us there. I know I'll be. Sound off like ya got a pair!

The con starts July 21st (preview night) and runs until sunday the 25th. I faxed in my pre-registration form on the last day to do it, so hopefully I got it in in time. Stan, have they assigned you a spot yet? And anything special you're going to be bringing with you to sell this year? See ya all there.

I just delivered the finalized t-shirt designs to Don Nishimura yesterday. They will look awesome! They will have the design I previously posted (the same one that adourns this webpage background to the left wit the Kanji for Usagi Yojimbo -- see below) on the back, with "Usagi Yojimbo Dojo" above it in the new Samurai font, and the address "www.UsagiYojimbo.com" below it (also in Samurai font). I managed to work in the Mifune Mon into the address in place of the dots. So it reads www(MON)UsagiYojimbo(MON)com.. it's integrated perfectly and looks great. On the front left breast will be an older UY drawing circa 1988 with the famous UY logo above it and the phrase "20 Years 1984 - 2004" underneath. The image on the front will be larger than typical for a front design, so it will look great and stand out more. Below is the artwork for the front design. I wanted a retro-look to round out the whole 20th anniversary. Below that is the art for the back design! RYAAAA!!!

Will they be black t-shirts by any chance? I hate white t-shirts... Looks rad though.

20th anniversary / Dojo T-shirts

Post by Steve Hubbell »

OK, how can Dojo members not going to San Diego this summer be able to get their hands on one of these fantastic sounding Dojo T-shirts? :D

Why couldn't Wizardworld - Chicago, Motor City Con - Detroit, or the Mid-Ohio Con be on Stan's schedule this year? :?

Dear Readers,
Ditto.
"The shirt design most definitely looks awesome Shogun-sama! One grey XL for me please! Where do we send the payment!!?" as Glennosuke already stated. The Comicon is out of my reach this year.
I am happy to pay whatever shipping and handling fees the Dojo may require.
(Perhaps you could make a little extra dough for the Dojo?)
No pressure though if these are intended for attendees only.
Thank you in advance for your consideration and response.
All Hail our Mighty Shogun!
Best wishes to all,
go

For the first round, the shirts will only be available at the SDCC. And I'll need to get payment prior to the con via mail (last time it was too difficult with the con staff cracking down on us for "selling" the shirts in the aisles). Don't worry though, the shirts will be offered at cost. Until I can find someone to distribute them via regular mail, offerings will be limited to UYD Retainers only! Yeah, I know it sucks... but the shirts are not a true merchandising item. There is no profit being made from them, so we'd need someone to volunteer their time to distribute them via mail order. I have tried Gary's Corner Bookstore, but he has really scaled down his operation and most likely wouldn't be able to handle it. I am going to propose a new idea to Stan though, so stay tuned!

Pencil me in for an absentee XXL, if the system to get 'em into the wider world is established. Grey or white, I care not which.

I will be at the con again. :D

I am looking forward to a new shirt, my old one is slowly starting to age away.... The new design sounds great!
I would probably go for a medium size shirt, if it's standard shirt sizes.

Just let us know what to mail money-wise when!

The shirts will be offered in a wide range of sizes, but the standard will be L, XL, and XXL. M and XXXL will be available. I will be calling Don again soon to establish a price. Stay tuned. I will also be sending out a mass email to the UYD Members to see who will be at the con.
