question for board members on UY Saga HCs
What are you using to protect the large Saga HCs after tearing off the shrink wrap? Thanks for any info.

Personally, I have 12 Roku Toys produced figurines of Usagi and friends protecting all of my Saga hardcovers, as well as my 30 limited edition s/n original hardcovers. And if they are not enough protection, I also have Sam Moo Rai as back-up protection.kraftdinner wrote:What are you using to protect the large Saga HCs after tearing off the shrink wrap? Mine are just sitting on a shelf. These are probably your best bet, but I'm not buying a bag of 100 to find out.

I have mine inside a glass cabinet and my house has central air/heat so we keep it pretty well controlled.kraftdinner wrote:What are you using to protect the large Saga HCs after tearing off the shrink wrap? Thanks for any info.

My very high-tech, advanced, and extremely expensive solution is that I put them on a regular shelf and dust them off occasionally.
I guess I'm not really the one to answer this. I'm careful with my books, but I don't really put them in any bags. I have Sailor Pluto statue and a Doctor Who Funko pop to protect them.

Mine also just go on the bookshelf and get an occasional dusting.

Dear Reader,
Where I live there are termites, moths and other insects who like to eat books.
Unfortunately i do not have the magic Steve is using.
I have one word for you: plastics (Especially Mylar).
I am using 9 by 13 inches mylar bags.
The books barely fit, so you might like the next size larger for more overlap at the top but an overall over sized bag.
(the mylar is more expensive but the poly bags will need to be replaced eventually, Mylar is forever....)
Best wishes to all!

Heh-heh. The idea of action figures protecting books is funny.
I don't have any of the hardcover UY Saga books, but I also just put my fancier books on a shelf. I don't use any special bags for them or anything, but they are always under the watchful eye... of LOBSTER JOHNSON!!!!!!! (An action figure, anyway...)

One place where I do tend to look when I do need a bag for something is Bags Unlimited.....
https://www.bagsunlimited.com/default.aspx
Recently picked up a batch of ashcan sized bags that work great for the Usagi Yojimbo Sketchbooks.....

Do you put your bagged books on a shelf or are they in boxes?go wrote: I have one word for you: plastics (Especially Mylar).

Re: question for board members on UY Saga HCs
I store all my valuable books inside either a glass or a wooden cabinet, so dust doesn't reach inside.
But I don't bag them in plastic as I like to have them available for reading.
For the Usagi HC, as they have many pages, I store them horizontally, so the back doesn't break or get deformed with the weight of the pages. (I have heard a few people to whom it happened, with other non-Usagi books). I know some people use some small rectangular pieces of styrofoam they place under the pages on vertical books to prevent this. I might go down this road someday, but have been too lazy to try it until now.

Thanks for the posts and info, everybody. I'll take it to heart and pay a visit to Bags Unlimited. In the meantime, my daughter's Peppa Pig and Minnie Mouse figurines will have to stand guard when they're not on active duty in Peppa's dollhouse.
