Usagi for Christmas and other comics for kids ?
My work is donating Christmas presents to a local Childrens' Charity. What other comics (besides Usagi) do you think kids might like?

The Reed Gunther series, Shane and Chris Houghton, collected in two trade paperbacks is a great series from Image comic. Another series I would recommend is the Oz series of comics / tpbs by Skottie Young and Eric Shanower. Of course, you also have the Crogan Family Adventures by Chris Schweizer, in b/w and in color. Last suggestion, the Mouse Guard by David Petersen....

And Gordon Rider by Jon J. Murakami, don't know if you can find them anyplace besides his web-site....

My kids loved Carl Barks and Don Rosa Duck stories. Fantagraphics has reprinted some great collections and Life and times of Scrooge McDuck are favorites. Amulet by Kazu Kabuishi (and his flight anthologies are well liked). Cumcumber quest by Gigi D.G. Scary Godmother by Jill Thompson. Garfield. Calvin and Hobbes. Beanworld by Larry Marder. Meanwhile by Jason Shiga. These are all suggestions from my 13 years old daughter when recalling her earlier childhood comics (not to mention Steve's excellent suggestions).
And it must be written that my kids read all volumes of Usagi multiple times. It's the best.
Peace, maka

The Aw Yeah comics (Itty Bitty Hellboy, Itty Bitty Mask, Tiny Titans, etc) are good all-ages comics. As Maka said, Calvin and Hobbes is great too. I'll let you know if I think of anything else.

Some great recommendations above. I'd also include Jeff Smith's Bone.

Also hard to go wrong with some of the Star Wars omnibuses out there, esp with the new release and all.

Tiny Titans, Itty bitty Hellboy, and I would personally recommend the Pokemon Manga series. They're great books and are kid-friendly! Maybe also the My Little Pony comics, too. They are very good! (Ok, maybe some people wouldn't like them quite as much as I do...

Lot's of good suggestions! I agree with many of them.
I guess a lot would depend on the age of the kids.
Some from my own list... some for younger kids, some for older kids; some I've read, some I've only looked at on the shelves.
Usagi Yojimbo
Peanuts
Calvin and Hobbes
Scary Godmother
Itty Bitty Hellboy
Bone
Mouse Guard
Walt Disney Comics and Stories
Amulet
Tiny Titans
Hilda (Hildafolk)
Yotsuba
Oz (series)
Bean World
And so many more...

Rust by Royden Lepp is a great all ages comic. It's published by Archaia, who publish Mouse Guard.
