I hear through the grapevine that Gold Rush Games licence for the Usagi RPG has expired (not that they did much with it).
Does anyone know how and when, or if anyone has expressed an interest, who it is and if a release is programmed.

Yes, another company has approached me but nothing has been signed yet.

Not too hard to do it. two steps to it.
1.) register as a Dojo member, using the links provided at the top of the forum...
2.) after registering, sign in as a member, click on Profile, and at the bottom of the profile page it allows you to pick an avatar (little picture) to go with your name and postings.
0.) helps to have an image saved on your computer meeting the size restrictions ready to upload.
Abayo...
P.S.
Everything is working, so there should not be any trouble.

Along the same line of "How Do You..." questions...
How do you add a photograph to a posting as opposed to a link to a photograph?
Arigato...

I think you put the link in between [url] brackets...or else whatever file it is (like [jpg]). But don't quote me on that.

I'm getting ready to run an Usagi game, and last weekend got my players, a husband and wife, to make some characters. Hopefully we'll be playing next weekend. Here are their characters. Sorry if these are a bit long.
Kumada - Bear/Bounty Hunter
Kumada was found by monks working in the fields. He has never known his parents and was raised at the temple by the monks. His childhood was spent happily helping the monks with chores and playing with the children of the village. One of his favorite games was chucking rocks at small items set atop posts.
One day, bandits raided the temple looking for religious artifacts they could sell elsewhere. Several monks were killed defending the temple, and the bandits escaped. The local constable was unable to pursue them to surrounding villages due to obligations within the temple's village. Kumada, who was coming of age and being gently urged to strike out from the temple, quickly decided to become a bounty hunter and bring ruffians such as the bandits, to justice.
As he was preparing to leave the temple, he was called to meet with the head monk. The monk explained that he had once been a samurai but had laid up his sword for a life of peace and devotion to Buddha. But he understood Kumada's desire for justice and knew that Kumada would only fight those deserving to be punished. Thus, he granted his daisho to Kumada.
For his first mission, Kumada rounded up several of the bandits that had raided the temple. He had been tempted to repay their bloodshed in kind, but remembered the teachings of mercy from the temple and stayed his hand, binding them and turning them in to the local constable.
With the bounty money from the bandits and a letter of introduction from the head monk, Kumada trained for two years at a kenjutsu school in a city. Since then, he has lived on the road, roaming wherever the next bounty leads.
Natsuko - Cat/Ninja
Natsuko was raised by the Neko Ninja clan, though she always felt that she did not belong there. She learned all the skills of the ninja, but something was not right... she wanted to live a "normal" life, but since it is forbidden to leave the clan, she kept her dreams to herself.
Then something fortuitous happened, though some might consider it disastrous. It was here first real mission, and she and her group of Neko were ambushed by the Komori Ninja. Her group fought against the devious bats, but were slaughtered. This would have been the end of Natsuko if it were not for a traveller who found the scene of the battle... a bounty hunter named Kumada. He found that she was not dead, but was barely hanging onto life.
He nursed Natsuko back to health, but was suspicious of her. She was a ninja after all. When she became well enough to speak, she told him she was done being a ninja. She was dead as far as they knew, and that way of life was dead to her.
Since then, she has been traveling with Kumada, learning the way of the sword and helping him catch his bounties.
