The book is mentioned around 8:15. He'll be doing an advance review at a later date, but I'll skip that. I don't want any spoilers.
I must admit I am a little envious that he gets a copy a month in advance.

That was surprisingly entertaining. I don’t think I will ever watch that channel again but it was different. Thanks for the link. Peace, maka

Early release email notification from Stan’s site.
Unsigned option $39.99 w/$16 flat rate shipping
Signed option $44.99 w/ $16 flat rate shipping
Head sketch option $49.99 w/ $16 flat rate shipping
Hoping the head sketch option is also signed since it is the most expensive... “fingers crossed”
Glad this is an option as my local shop didn’t get it ordered and Amazon is not gentle with HC books.
I remember this type of book being discussed on the forum in the past...So glad this book has become a reality!

If you plan on getting an unsigned copy I'd suggest getting it through InStockTrades not Amazon. <--Assuming you live in the US.
However, if you want a signed copy then I'd definitely go through Stan's site.

Hey Travis,
I got that email too. I clicked on the link and I was tempted. But I’m fortunate that my LCBS always asked me if I wanted that Usagi covers book a few months back. I already said yes (I try to support local businesses). I thought it might be worth it to order for Stan to get a sketch. But a head sketch isn’t the same as one of his quick sketches.
I’m also fortunately to live on the California’s central coast so I have more opportunities to see the Sakai’s than those who don’t live in CA. There is a chance I could get it signed in person in the future.
Regardless, supporting the Sakai’s directly is awesome. The book looks amazing from the video Gaffey shared here. Enjoy!
Peace, maka

Me too. If I wouldn't already have it on preorder with my LCBS I would order it directly from Stan.

I would normally go through Instocktrades.com but since almost everything I have is signed by Stan it was worth the extra money since I won't be seeing him anytime soon to get something signed.
Plus Instocktrades hasn't been so "in stock" lately. The last two orders I placed had to be canceled and they said they have been very busy and unable to process orders quickly. Their pricing is the best but two bad experiences in a row also pushed me to order from Stan. I'll give them another chance around Christmas when they have their yearly sale because normally they are awesome.

I appreciate all the support, however I would encourage you to buy from your Local Comic Store when possible.
Most people who buy from the stansakai site do so because they want the items signed or remarqued, and we include unsigned items as a convenience.

I was planning on getting the Grasscutter hardcover for Christmas, but when I saw that prohibitive price I knew it wasn't going to happen. Wanting a nice Usagi volume for the holiday I went with this new cover collection instead, and even though it was my second choice I've ended up loving this book!
Not only is it a great history of the series itself, but you get an interesting look at how Tom goes from analog methods to digital and see some of the visual hiccups as a result of adjusting to the new methods before he could excel at them. It's really cool!

I just received the Usagi Yojimbo 35 Years of Covers in the mail today.
It is an amazing book. It is larger and heavier than I was expecting. The weight is because of the high quality paper that is used for the book. It was incredible to flip through all of the covers. That they are printed without the trade dress is fantastic as it lets you appreciate the covers on their own uncluttered.
The first cover in the book is Albedo 2. It then skips the back cover of Albedo 3, the front cover of Albedo 4 and continues to skip the covers of Critters 3, 10 and 14 before settling in with:
1) Usagi v1 1-38
2) Usagi v2 1-16
3) Usagi v3 1-172 (including the extra cover for 123 and 136)
4) Senso 1-6
5) Usagi Summer Special 1
6) Usagi One-for-One
7) Usagi Color Special 1-5
8 ) Usagi HC 1-33 (including the new covers for the TPBs for 3 and 4)
9) Usagi Yokai cover 1
10) Senso HC 1
11) Usagi Saga 1-8 & Legends
12) Art of Usagi 1
13) Gallery Editions 1-2
14) The Sakai Project.
Also included are pictures of two Dark horse holiday cards (I am not quite sure why they are included but it is a nice bonus)
I have never seen a project that has reprinted so many different covers and does such a thorough job. It is as close to perfect as this type of collection could get. The only improvement I could think would be if they included the missing Albedo and Citter covers above (although perhaps they were excluded for copy write reasons) and perhaps including the Space Usagi covers (although then there might have been a need for text to explain them).
Even if you have all the original issues go out and buy this book. You will be happy you did.
I am looking forward to about 10 years from now our getting the same book but with all the IDW covers, including all the TMNT/Usagi variant covers.
Some how I think in 10 years of IDW there will be more covers than the first 35 years. (Between the TMNT crossovers and variant covers in the v4 there are already over 50 covers

)
