Since there is not going to be a new Usagi Yojimbo Sketchbook released for the first time in sixteen years, I decided to play around with making a Usagi Yojimbo Dojo Sketchbook to hold me over until the next official one comes out. I had Kinkos (Fed Ex) print up two copies of this for me, the second copy was in the mail the same day on its way to Stan.
While I love how nice it came out, a lot better than I was expecting from Kinkos, I still want to make a few revisions, correct a slight problem on the cover, add page numbers, etc.... Then I plan on sending it to the people who printed up the 35th Anniversary Usagi Yojimbo Tribute book to have a small batch made. How small? That will be determined by how many people are interested and contact me by PM to inform me of their interest over the next couple weeks.
Yes, I'd be interested. I assume Stan's okay with it being offered?
Since not everyone can read kanji, it would probably be nice if the cover title did have dojo written in English, so as not to confuse people that might see this in the distant future, and think it's an official sketchbook even though it says 'Totally Unauthorized'.
It might also be nice to have a forward by Steve Hubbell explaining the reason behind this printing in regards to covid 19 and 2020 as being the year without any cons, because in 15 years there will be a new generation of readers that have no idea what happened in 2020.

Weird, I never noticed that Dark Horse was the only publisher to use the kanji on the cover next to the title.....
I had forgotten about that title design. It seems it started with DH issue 46 and ran until the end of the DH issues. I never gave it much thought as to what it even said (兎用心棒 which is "Usagi Yojimbo").
