We been talking about all these variant covers. I think I starting to reach my limit on getting them. There is only so much money set aside for comics. I rather support my local comic book store than these other ones. I may face non-buyers regret but I can live with that.

Of course I could change my mind after dinner. We’ll see.

Happy collecting?

Peace, maka

Yeah, I'm not getting it. I was just sharing the link and curious who the artist was since the seller didn't offer up that information.

I'm still disappointed to hear that IDW didn't include any variant covers in the Bunraku hardcover. Not even Stan's variants. :(

At least Stan was able to sell another 1000 copies of issue 1. :)

Speaking of comic money. Did you see how many people on Facebook jumped at the chance to buy a raw Albedo 2 for $6000? I'm willing to bet at least one will be slabbed and flipped for 2 to 3 times that amount.

And here's another variant (or maybe 2, as they tend to do both trade dress and virgin of all their covers): https://krscomics.com/ But at $40 each (according to the Instagram post), I'm gonna pass. In fact, I may pass on all the color reprint variants, as there are just too many variants (and expensive ones at that) between the new issues and these. I'll probably keep picking up the new issue variants, however, as long as they stick to just a single variant at reasonable prices.

I agree! That’s is something that is good news to me.

I think Steve is being very generous selling his Albedo #2 at $6,000 each. Still way out of my price range but he says he wants to help the fans out. I’m hoping rich fans get it and not flippers, but at least Steve will get his money.

I don’t know who the artist is of the variant cover you posted. Sorry to switch the focus of your post with my rant on variant covers.

I am probably going to follow Jabba in passing on new color classic variants. Jabba hasn’t steered me wrong … yet. ;)

I think I have to admit to not really liking the artwork on these two new variants.

Much rather see something good like this custom cover.....

So the KRS comics one is only trade dress, no virgin cover. They have (had) a few options: $40 unsigned (today's allotment sold out in about 3 minutes); $55 signed by cover artist Alex Cormack with COA; $150 CGC 9.8 signed by Alex; and $250 CGC 9.8 signed by Alex and Stan.

The unsigned cover is also currently available through East Side Comics: https://eastsidecomics.com/products/usa ... ge-variant

Wait a minute...I'm confused.

STORY SYNOPSIS: This is the New Tale of USAGI YOJIMBO - WANDERER'S ROAD - Kickstarts a new phase in this highly popular character from IDW Publishing.

Is this a new story?

No idea. KRS said they're releasing small batches each day, Wed-Sun, so they should have more for sale. I think they're artificially trying to create the feeling of a shortage by doing really small batches each day. Makes people feel the fear of missing out if it sells out fast on day 1, like it did. But they're probably sitting on a giant pile of more.

Black Flag Comics was also selling the unsigned and COA signed versions, but are also sold out. https://www.blackflagcomics.com/collect ... -cover-art I wonder just how many shops got these, as we know of at least three shops so far?

Steve, that is a beautiful sketch cover. I love it.

Well, since they are sold out, that takes the decision out of my hands for today. That makes it easier to not buy again tomorrow.

I did get a beautiful signed copy of Albedo #1 (red cover, 2nd print or 1st print that wasn't part of the 500 issues of the first print depending on point of view) from Steve Gallacci, which he personalized, "To that guy Maka." It was more expensive than I usually spend on comics but I figure I was supporting Steve, the artist who supported and gave Stan an anthology spot that started Usagi. I love having it in my collection finally. If anyone buys the Albedo #2 from him, if they similiar condition like this one, they are pretty darn nice. I can't afford $6,000. But I think the buyers will be very happy.

Peace, maka

That's a great story about Albedo #1.

I'll admit to pretty profound variant fatigue at this point too. It was a fun novelty for a couple of landmark issues, but at a certain point it can begin to feel a bit like an attempt to just extract money from fans.

You know, this would actually be a really cool cover if he hadn't put that stupid looking katana in Usagi's mouth!
