The new rage in Japan is sake ice cream, a soft-serve ice cream containing unrefined sake. The ice cream contains less than 1 percent alcohol, but the sweet flavor is reported "strong enought to fill the mouth."

Mochi ice cream sounds wonderful, unlike the other kinds that can be found in Japan >< Eeew...horsemeat and whale flavours...

They should invent ice cream pocky! You'd get to eat the stick as well as the ice cream and chocolate ^_^

There is a hotel in SoHo in New York City that served up 3 different ice cream/beer floats. I remember one was a vanilla ice cream in Lindemann's Framboise Lambic (raspberry beer that is among the Greatest Substances Known to Man), and another was in a stout of some kind.

Of course, I can't remember the name of the hotel off the top of my head, but it was a wonderful combination of childhood and adult delights.

I'd make a joke about good sake needing to be served at "just the right temperature -- 98.7 degrees" like Sean Connery said in You Only Live Twice, but I know that statement is about as accurate as Connery's plastic surgery to make him Japanese later in the movie :D.
