Writing for Animation, Comics, and Games is a new book by Christy Marx, and published by Focal Press, an imprint of Elsevier.
Christy is a friend and has written extensively in those areas. I worked with her on some of the Mattel in-pack comics (those little comics that come with the toys) and some other projects. This book is a practical guide to the industries with sections on how to make an animation bible, what sells and why, getting in the door, and (most importantly) getting paid.
She used art from three comics professionals as examples: Wendy Pini, Kurt Busiek and me. Todd, you'll be pleased to know that panels from that page you own is in there, an example of using silence to convey an emotional connection between characters.

Welcome to th Dojo, Texcap.Texcap wrote: Any chance you can tell me what issue this page is from (and please see my introduction before anyone stones me for not knowing already!)?
IF so, much appreciated!
That is page 22, from UY #88. It was part 6 of the 7 part Treasure of the Mother of Mountains story arc. The entire story will be reprinted as UY Book 21 in July.

(Forgive me, I'm in a Japanese mindset with a big final coming up, so I can use all the practice I can get!

Great, I'll be sure to make a note of it, and I look forward to getting to that point in the stories. I've got a good ways to go until I get there, but the journey is half the fun so...That is page 22, from UY #88. It was part 6 of the 7 part Treasure of the Mother of Mountains story arc. Thanks for taking the time to clue me in, and keep up the great work.
