Usagi Yojimbo NR 100 - A Celebration

Post by Todd Shogun »

UYD Members,

Just a heads up that Usagi Yojimbo NR 100 will hit the stands on January 31, 2007! This issue will feature story and art by guest creators Mark Evanier & Scott Shaw!, Publisher Mike Richardson & Rick Geary, Former UY Editor Jamie Rich & Andi Watson, Guy Davis, Sergio Aragones, Jeff Smith, Matt Wagner, Frank Miller and, of course, Tom Luth did the cover colors (ensuring the entire Groo Crew is represented -- how wrong would that be if they weren't??). Editor Diana Schutz may do a page, and Stan himself will do 7-8 pages to bookend the other contributors. It will be a 32 pager, with a $3.50 cover price, wraparound cover on card stock, and b&w interiors.

You can read more about it at the UYD's "Coming Up in UY" page here: http://usagiyojimbo.com/comingup.html We've also got a few preview pages!

There will also be a signed print of UY 100 offered in limited edition. A comic book retailer gets a free print for every 15 copies of UY 100 they order. So get in touch with your local store owners and let them know you want one asap! There is no set price, so wheel and deal if you can (who knows -- if you're in good with them, they may give it to you for free!). According to Stan, who just recently started signing them, they are beautiful. The print is about 18x24 inches, the printing is very good, and on excellent paper. The quality is almost as good as the Dragon print, which sold for $100. This one is sure to be a serious collector's item you don't want to miss out on!

Lastly, the UY Dojo is sponsoring a special Usagi NR 100 Contest, details of which will be announced right after UY 99 hits the stands on Dec. 27th! Stay tuned for details!

Abayo,

Todd Shogun

Hey Todd,
you certainly beat the drum; the suspence is almost killing me!!
What kind of contest do you have in mind? Some kind of raffle, Q/A about UY, a crossword, bingo....
Anyway, I'll keep my eyes on this Dojo (as if I hadn't already)...
Greetings from overseas

The contest will be a basic raffle...but the prizes won't be so basic!

Well any shot at a poster is better than no shot, so bring on the raffle :)
