Go, Todd, Roel, do you think it would be possible to plan a Dojo event, perhaps a dinner ? of course, if everyone can come (not sure for myself right now).

I don't know what my schedule will be, but a dinner or some other planned Dojo event sounds good. It would be a lot easier to plan something for WonderCon than for San Diego.

Stan

That's great news about WonderCon and the Cartoon Art Museum.

I've been a member of the CAM since 1993. At their events, I've met Charles Schulz, Stan Lee, Lynn Johnston, Marc Davis, Ward Kimball, Patrick McDonnell, Pete Docter, and many other cartoonists. They've had great exibits of work by the Disney Studio, Bill Watterson, Jeff Smith, Dan Piraro, Moebius, Japanese mangaka, etc.

Hey Dojo members, I'm sure some of you out there have covers you bought from sensei. How about loaning them back to him for the display so that we all can see some of his earlier works.

Thank you. A couple have offered the loan of their purchased art, but I do have a few older pieces. I did not keep them for the cover art, but because of the backs. I used to let my kids draw on the backs of Usagi and Groo art, so much so that they come to appreciate a fine quality drawing bristol. There are a few that I will not sell, but I will loan to an exhibition.

If I was in the US I'd offer too on the lending front, but the risks and hassle of shipping stuff abroad (AND blooming Customs fees) is sadly too offputting :?

This is great news!
I'll have to see if I can make it up to SF for at least one day.
And I'll definitely make a trip to visit the museum to see the pieces on display.

Technical question :
Do we have to pre-order like for SDCC a pass for the event ? or can we buy tickets during the Con ?

I wish I could join you all but I've already committed to do a Engaged Encounter Weekend for the church that weekend. We scheduled that at the end of 2007, believe it or not.

Have a great time! I plan to be at my first SDCC this year for the 25th anniversary. Hope to meet a lot of you there.

Peace, maka

Stan,

If you need anything for display, let me know.
