The trades sell very well, and they are perennial sellers. This can be seen by the number of times the books have been reprinted, and with the upcoming Fantagraphics' complete Usagi. However, the printruns of comic pamphlets have been going steadily downward. This is not just with Usagi, but all comics in general.
The trade collections give me a nice boost in income once a year, but it is the income from the comics that sustain me month to month. I believe the same is true with Dark Horse.
Greetings from overseas

This is shaping out to be a great story. Can't wait to see what happens next.
I also liked how there's a little paragraph about Usagi's origin in the inside of the cover page. Reminiscent of how Marvel used to have the origins of their superheroes on top of the first page.
Does the Japanese writing on the cover mean "25 years". Looked very cool.

The little paragraph to recap the story was Diana's idea.
Yes, it does read "25 years". Diana thought we should acknowledge our Silver Anniversary, but I did not want to go overboard with it. Designer Cary Gazzini came up with this subtle touch.

Actually, the three kanji reads "ni", "ju", "go", or "two", "ten", "five". 25.

I'm reading all previews from darkhorse.com, and traitors of the earth looks tasty I love stories with "legends" and historical background, Also puting sasuke and kitsune in one story looks interesting, they r both foxes (siblings ?)

Yes.
I thought about it today, and I think Traitors of the Earth will be the lead story in Book 25.
Thanks for reply mr. Sakai but i still dont understand 1 thing.
There are usually about 7-8 issues in one book. So The 23rd book includes issues 94-102. 24 book is cotaining sparrows i guess , so the 25 book will collect 10 issues ?
Usagi Yojimbo #117 is the first installment of 3-part “Traitors of the Earth” storyline that will run through issue #119, and
it begins in fine fashion with a battle fought 300 years ago in Usagi’s time between Lord Hayashi and the traitorous Lord
Nobu at the Battle of Gray Overlook. In that battle, Hayashi gains the upper hand using a deft military manuever, and
when the victory is won he slaughters Nobu as an example of what happens to those that rebel against the clan, leaving
Nobu’s men slaughtered, lying dead on the ground — proclaiming it “cursed with the blood of traitors” (a sentence I reckon
that’ll come back to *ahem* haunt us). As always, I really enjoyed this glimpse into the past and it certainly sets an
ominous tone for the remainder of the storyline...
